Most of the main manufacturers of vacuum cleaners also produce a range of heavy duty or trade versions of their popular cleaners and some of these also produce industrially rated and special purpose cleaners.
A few manufacturers only produce heavy duty types.

Numatic is a very popular supplier of these types and have gained a good reputation over several decades. I have used a heavy duty version of their popular "Henry" cleaner that is still going strong after 30 - odd years.
Numatic produce, in addition to the usual types, a range of hazardous dust vacuums.

Clearly the best choice of cleaner will be one that either does not break down or is one that can be repaired quickly and easily by a local company.
I suggest you approach local companies to discover what they use and their satisfaction with the brand - large hotels for instance.

There was smoke coming out from where the motor is located of my shark rocket vacuum cleaner and it was smelling like it was burning too and there where also sparks coming from the motor as well too ?

I am guessing that the motor has died on you and has stopped working and needs to be replaced. These types of vacuum cleaners last about 5 years and if you had it for 4 years and this problem is occurring then it is most likely a faulty vacuum cleaner here that you could of had purchased and you should buy a new vacuum cleaner. Costco sells shark rocket vacuum cleaners.

How to Prolong the life of your Vacuum leaner

There are several types of vacuum cleaners these days. Most people now seem to use the upright bagless vacuums since you do not have to buy the filter bags. Those vacuums are fine, if you take the proper care of them. Ithink it is a bit messy. In order for you to really prolong the life of any vaccuum, you must make sure the machine has plenty of circulation. In order for the vaccuum do the great job you expect, you have to do a little maintenance on it.
  • Each time you run the vaccuum,
  • Take out all filters (foam & the plastic inserts)
  • Wash the filters out with warm water.

I need to know if it has a reset button. we had a power outage and it has stopped working since than. cant find a button to reset it.

Vacuum cleaners do not have reset buttons instead it would have a thermal protection breaker integrated within the motor if the motor overloads it will shut off but will start again as it cools down.Check to make sure the outlet has power in it first. Vacuum cleaners are usually reliable since they are not subjected to prolonged use unless it is used in commercial environment, but a common problem with it is a bad internal connection usually around the motor area due to vibration.

My Model 2961 Eureka wont take power now?

Hi,

Anytime that you smell that electrical burning smell on a vacuum cleaner, this is the motor going bad. There are two distinctive burning smells in fixing vacuum cleaners, the electrical burning smell which is the motor, and a rubber burning smell which is the belt.

The bagless vacuums cleaners in general, their motors last usually no more then 3-5 years. The motor in bagless vacuums work much harder then the motors in their bagged counterparts.

The motors in Eureka vacuums can range in price from $70-$120. If you can provide me with the exact model number on your vacuum cleaner (can be found on the bottom or the back of the machine on the sticker that also contains the serial number) I will be able to get you the part number, and price of the motor that's used in your vacuum.

It may be worth considering to just get a new vacuum cleaner at this point. If you'd like me to give you a personalized recommendation specifically for your unique cleaning needs, I'd be honored to do so. Please just let me know what types of floors you have mostly in the home and I'll be happy to share my knowledge of vacuum cleaners.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you found this helpful, please be sure to rate the repair helpful so other Fixya users that have this same problem can easily find the answer.

Thanks so much,

Chris J.

Need a replacement drive belt for my hoover lark u4043 not sure about last no. it's an old machine, but this one is in perfect condition, minus the drive belt. my local vacuum specialist says they can't...

Hi
As you know the Hoover Lark was more or less a rebodied Hoover Junior. The U4043/ (are you sure its not U4034?) model should use the same round drive belts as the Hoover Junior 1346 so youre looking for the old rubber ring type belts which are circular rubber rather than the flat types (usually ribbed) for the later 1980s U1104 series. You can find these types almost anywhere these days as these cleaners go on for ages.
