SOURCE: have magnavox dvd recorder record direcTV DVR programs w/ hdtv

I am unfamiliar with this unit.
If you have scart connecters on both, connect av2 on the tv to av in on the recorder. set the recorder to record from av source.
You should now record a program, I think the static is the fact that composite is out from the dvd only, not an input, and in on the tv, not an output.

SOURCE: Dvr not working. Won't record, pause rewind

Try unplugging the unit from the electrical outlet for about five minutes- much longer than required- and try it again. If this fails you will need a service technician to resolve the issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

How do I record a show using my DVR and i-Guide?

There are multiple ways to do this:
  1. Press the RECORD button on your remote control while watching a program to begin recording. An overlay will appear on your screen to let you know you have started recording.

  1. Press the MENU button on your remote control then select the DVR icon.
  2. Or, if available, press the My DVR button on your remote control.

Dish dvr 622 will not record two shows at once

Deborah Haviland,

I can understand the concern with that receiver not doing the 2 recordings. There isn't a specific setting that stops it, so the receiver itself may be having trouble. Unplug the receiver for 10 seconds and plug it back in.

If the problem persists we would have to replace the receiver. If you can send me an email at [email protected] with the account or phone #, I can definitely check into that with you.

My Sony RDR-GX300 DVD Recorder is suddenly only recording the 1st 15 seconds from the DVR. The entire show is on the DVR. I have tried discs that I've used before successfully & new DVD's.

1) pass the Disk cleaner buy to some radio schack, and test it
2) test the cable in another device, and determine if faulty or not.
3) if not clean the terminal from DVD VS TV with c.cleaner
4) otherwise the Syscom inside and another associates circuit is faulty such like record ampl.
go to the repair shop for fix it.
God bless you

My picture breaks up and I loose sound. usually while viewing something I've recorded on my DVR. is it my tv or the cable? or the channel itself?

If it is only during watching a recording on the DVR then it may be the DVR that is the problem. Does a recording always break up at the same point? If so then the recording itself is bad and this may be due to a poor signal being received. If the breakup occurs randomly then the DVR may not be able to read the data from the recording media (Hard disk or DVD - you did not specify). The obvious first step is to try the DVR on another TV.

How do I find History on DVR & retrieve my protected recordings?

In order to find your protected recording in the history on your DVR, you would simply press the button specifically labeled, "DVR" on your DISH Network remote, the DISH On Demand screen will then come on your tv, proceed by selecting "My recordings," on the "My Recordings" screen you will then select the "Sort" option. Once you have selected the sort option it will allow you to specify how you want the recordings sorted- the option you would want to select is, "Protected." I hope this helps you out, let me know if you need any other help! -Kirstie DISH Network

Unable to record show on the DVR

Try a hard reboot. Hold the power button on the box till it turns itself off. It will turn itself back on. After restarting try to record live tv. If you can't watch recorded shows either your harddrive may be fried. After thought, a $20 tv tuner card from e-bay for your computer, you could record them to your desktop.
