I tried to put a lock on my phone, and i ended up locking myself out of it! it says i need a PUK code; but i don't know what it is :/
Hello, Maria -
The PUK code is the Personal Unlocking Key for the SIM card for your cell phone. It is unique to each SIM card.
If, when you purchased or was given your cell phone, it came with the SIM card separately, with its own packaging, and you or someone else installed the SIM card in your phone, and you kept the packaging for the SIM card, you will find the unique PUK code printed on the SIM card packaging. It will probably be a sticker with PUK: followed by numbers.
If you do not have that SIM card packaging, perhaps you have an online account with your cell phone provider. If you do, you will need to go to the cell phone provider's website and sign in with your User ID and password. One of the support options should be viewing your PUK code.
Or, you will need to use another phone (land line or ask a relative or friend to use their cell phone) and call the technical support phone number of your cell phone provider. Once connected to technical support, you will need to describe your lock-out problem, provide identification (your account number with the cell phone provider and perhaps other identifying information), and then give them the phone number of the SIM card for which you want the PUK code.
Once you have the PUK code, be sure to write it down and store it in a safe place (maybe more than one copy of the information in more than one location - like at home in a bedroom bureau drawer and also in your wallet and also a tag attached to you house key.)
