Should I get somekind of beep codes with having no ram stick inside pc at all. thank you and if so how whould i fix it or can it be fixed

Hi there,
Most motherboards if not all will provide you a beep code if there is no RAM on the memory slot.
To fix the issue you would have to determine if the point of failure is the RAM of the Slot on the board. If you have an identical known good working RAM you can try putting that in the board and if the same symptom happens then it means the problem is the slot on the board but if it works the RAM is busted.
Sadly the only fix for this type of issue is to replace the faulty part. (RAM or Motherboard)
Hope this helps!

My laptop ram is 1GB. i want to extand it. which type of ram is good for it and what is its cost?

Dear! If its RAM is not fixed and it has facility to replace the RAM, you can extend it but if the RAM is fixed on motherboard you can not extend it. There are two types of RAMs: (i) DDR1 (ii) DDR2
1GB DDR1 costs upto $30 and 1GB DDR2 costs upto $20, there may a chance of $3-$4 in prices.
Now you choose that which type of RAM your laptop has?

Monitor will not start up on off switch is blinking

The problem is actually in the CPU and not in the Ram

This happens due to dust in the Ram .In order to fix the problem try removing the Ram from the slot and fix again after cleaning the Ram and the Ram slot .
If the problem persists try resetting the Bios by removing battery.

I have a sony vgc-rb30 I get 3 beeps when I power up. I have no video output, and the only peripheral that seems to work is the keyboard (at least the lights are on) I can't seem to find a motherboard...

The problem is exactly with your RAM sir , the 3 beep sound is an intimation of RAM not detection from the BIOS , i will tell the procedure to fix the RAM , if you know to remove the side cover of the machine remove it by opening the back side screws, in the mother board you can see a vertically fixed chip is called RAM , the RAM is locked with the white color notch at the both ends of RAM , if you release that lock you can get the RAM separately, after it you, have to rub the contacts of the RAM to clean the fungus layer on the contacts, after that fix the RAM again by watching the small cut in the RAM , if you not getting the display than this have to replace the RAM only sir , this is the picture of the RAM , don't forget to vote for meaf7dbe8.jpg
