SOURCE: Kenwood RXD-A53 CD player just rotates and doesn't load a CD

Hello,

how long have you been using this player? The problem should be from the lens (laser).

The lens is weak and that's why it cannot read/load Cd's.

Get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, but if the lens still does the same thing even after using the lens cleaner, then it means you would have to change the whole lens completely to a brand new one.

By so doing your player would play all Cd's with no problem at all.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Thomas Pacconi Model TPC-MSE-800 turntable

Pjam,
Had the same problem & checked around on the net. Several people tried replacing the belt, but it had no effect. Spoke w/ several repair shops around the country and they concur with what I'd read on the net - bad motors. 3 or 4 repair/supply shops told me getting a motor would be impossible. Since I only listen to 33-1/3 LP's, I messed around w/ it a little and found a solution. Take the turntable out of the unit & you will find a small circuit board attached to the bottom. On that board is a small square blue fixture w/ a white circular "dial" in the middle (has grooves to accept a small straight blade or a phillips screw driver). This controls the voltage to the motor, which in turn controls the motor RPM's. If you set the selector switch to 78, you can experiment /w turning that white circular "dial" to slow the motor down. It isn't very hard to get the speed set properly. The down side is that you will only be able to play 33-1/3 LP's, but they are probably the most common anyways. I assume you could do the same to set the speed for a 45, rather than a 33-1/3. Down side is that you will only be able to play 1 size LP on the 78 speed setting, but it's an easy adjustment that can keep an otherwise in-op turntable functioning. Good luck!

SOURCE: We have a Thomas Pacconi record player and the

TBirdMM, thanks for the advice. I was turning that dial this morning tweaking the rpms and it worked! Strangely enough I actually broke the white dial off, but when I spun a 33 on the 78 setting it played right on! Thanks!

Does anyone know why that dial only effects the 78rpm setting, and if there is a dial for the 33 rpm setting?

My thomas pacconi model: tpc-hd-12 will not play cds. bought used, and am/fm radio works, cassette player works, phonograph works.

This is very common as unfortunately the quality of the CD player means they rarely last as long as the the rest of the unit. Sometimes it is just dust on the laser lens and being at the bottom of the unit they will collect any dust that falls from above and the lens isn't easy to clean.

If you load a CD and hear it beginning to spin and the onscreen message indicates it is trying to read the disc but eventually fails and stops - it is probably either dust or a poor laser.
Both are a dismantling job and a replacement laser requires a professional - consequently people tend to consign them to garage sales and move onto the next hifi.

I need a needle for thomas pacconi phonograph model tpc-hd-12 can you help?

What you do is look at the cartridge it fits in, then note down the make and model number and enter that into Google. The stylus should then show up.

I have Thomas Pacconi 3-speed phonograph model TPC-7475 and wanted to attach external bookshelf speakers. Is there any way to hook speakers up to the line out jacks?

You need to buy the Jack's male plugs, Wal-Mart has them if memory serves, and splice your speaker wires onto them, preferably with a soldering gun and heat shrink insulation.

Is there any universal remotes that will work with a spirit of st louis radio, cd player, and phonograph? son broke the remote.

There are, but it's..... hit and miss.
The remotes don't cover all remote devices.

You will need the serial # and the brand B-4 you shop for a remote.

Not available from the manufacturer?
