you start by replacing every electr cap as most cb radios live in a hostile enviorment, They ALL suffer from dried up electolite. if the set is old ,that will be you first step,if you are up to speed with desoldering with out lifting copper tracks/etc, no reason why you can't have a go...do not shift trim pots or tuning can slugs
with out marking their factory positions as this can end up in a
mess

It looks like you are trying to run the CB and the commercial radio off of the same antenna at the same time? This I gather is failing. This may be due to the pre-wired antenna having a filter on it to prevent exactly what you are trying to do. If this is the case you may have no choice but to run a separate antenna for your CB (this is the most logical choice), now you can try to find the filter if it is an external filter and remove it and use an antenna matching network to connect the CB to the existing antenna system (next logical, but may void the antenna system warranty). In any event you will either have to run another antenna for the CB or find and remove the present antenna filter.
