This seems to be a common problem. All you need to do is replace a few capacitor which is pretty simple. I put together a tutorial on YouTube for the fix : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWGmtsqQYno

Hope this helps!

The power light keeps flashing and the tv won't turn on. If you unplug for a minute and hit the power button it sound like it is coming on then it shuts off and the red power light flashes slowly. The TV is a Panisonic 1080i HDTV, about 6-7 years old.

I have the same problem with mine. I can recreate the problem by stopping the small fan on the right side by the inputs. I'm not sure if its a heat problem or not. I already bought a new Sony Bravia but will continue to tinker with this for awhile.

Hitachi 50UX53K Ultravision will not stay on

The set is going into shut down mode for avariety of reasons. Some of the more common problems are vertical o/p ic bad connection or failure, poor solder connection usually in the power or hv section or possibly comb filter circuit breakdown causing 12V line to short. This set incorporate 7 or more shut down circuits and any one of them could be triggering - more trouble shooting is required

Rca r56wh78 Keeps coming on and shutting off

If you have no experience with electronics or are not a TV technician or not have the right tools then you will either have to get a tech or find a hobby to entertain youtill you can get it fixed.
The TV shuts doen because of a voltage leak in the power supply or on one of the X or Y video boards. Do not let it continue to cycle as eventually it will die completely and be more costly to repair.

This is not DIY It involves the starter solenoid and the oveload detector trying to shut down to protect itself. it also requires knowledge of circuitry and the use of volateg checkers

Problems w/ Sharp LC-46SB54U remote programming

i will help with the easiest way, hit the TV button, then hold the setup button untill the light blinks twice, then hit 991, it will flash again, hit the 1 again, then hit power, then hit the chanel up button, and if it dont shut off, hit the chanul up button again, keep going this every 2 seconds(with the chanel up button) untill the power shuts off, when it shuts off, hit the setup button again, that will lock it in, hit the power button again-TV should come back on, if that dont work, use the volum up button , after doing the first few steps, hope this helps

Good Day, WADE N;

Some Models will shut down when no signal is detected.
Try unplugging the TV from wall/power source for 3 to 5 minutes.... plug back. Same thing? Go into OPTION MENU, press 'MENU' button on the remote > enter 1270. Choose reset system. If not there go to the SERVICE MENU, press "MENU > 1257 (same thing).
CAUTION: before you change any settings, document them (write down).

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Abnormal shutdown

This could be a hardware fault. Your power button could possibly be getting stuck whe you turn it on. This message only comes up when you maually hit the power button on the laptop. When it comes up again, try pushing the power button quickly to loosen it up, then hit cancel and wait to see if it happens again. If it does you will have to get your power button looked at.

Channel keeps changing

It sounds like a stuck button or switch. What happens when you hit the channel DOWN, does it still keep scrolling down?
Is this with or without the remote?
Have you tried it with the remote and or the TV?

Let me know whether you are changing the channels with the remote or the buttons on the tv and I can try to give you a couple more suggestions.
