It depends on where it leaks. The wax ring that seals the toilet to the waste pipe could be old and dried out. The seal between the tank and the bowl could be old and dried out. The water supply line could be leaking.
If you want a stranger on the internet to offer you advice your question needs to be very specific. And you don't have a clue about toilets, best to call a plumber.
Sure this is fixable by a handy DIY person. But if that was you, then your question would have been more specific.

    ·Replacement tee bolts
    ·Replacement wax ring
    ·Sponge
    ·Bucket
    ·Hacksaw (if needed)
    ·Putty knife
    ·Work gloves
    ·Tub and tile caulk

    Instructions
      ·Check for Condensation
      ·Tighten the Tee Bolts
      ·Purchase a New Wax Ring
      ·Disconnect the Toilet
      ·Remove the Toilet

Actually I had suggested these steps to one of my friends and that worked. He had recently shifted to a different location and faced this issue. Initially, he had a doubt regarding the relocation of his households. But now after shifting smoothly, it was cleared as he didn't have to face any losses or damages to his belongings. In my opinion here is the best and reliable Packers and Movers in Andheri Mumbai.

How to locate leaks on a toilet

One of the major sources of water loss is due to a leaky flapper valve on toilet. Even with a small leak you can increase your water bills twenty to thirty dollars a month. And if you have several toliets some will be used more than others. The ones that are used the least often leak the most. The easiest ways I've found to locate leaks is to use common food coloring. Use any color you like,I prefer the darker ones as they show up better to me.Remove lid from toilet tank being careful as they are made of china and will break or crack if handled roughly. Put about ten -twelve drops of food coloring directly into tank. Check in about one-two hours. If flapper is leaking the water in the bowl will be discolored.
Most flappers can be easily changed by home owner, some may
require help. If you feel comfortable doing this the first thing I would do is try to identify type you need for replacement.Repair parts are available in plumbing dept. of most stores carrying hardware.I like to have repair parts on hand if possible. Shut off water supply to toilet. Remove old flapper and install new one.
There are many different types so you may have to remove it to get the right one. If water won't shut off or you can't find replacement parts you proably should call a service co.If it is leaking very bad or you have more than one a service call will probably pay for itself in a couple months.Thanks.
Toilet leak

You have to remove the tank and replace the tank gasket and the tank to bowl bolts and gaskets as well, do not reuse them, they will leak again.

How do I repair a toilet in a 1991 Pace Arrow

Is the water constantly running inside the toilet or leaking from behind. If it is running inside the toilet it is often cause by the valve not being allowed to return to the off position. This could be a result of a bad flush linkage from the foot pedal or handle or it could be that the ball or blade gasket is messed up inside the toilet. If it is leaking behind the toilet that means your water flush module has cracked and must be replaced. Turn the water to the coach off. Disconnect the water line to the rear of the toilet. Remove the nut on each side of the base of the toilet. Take the toilet outside and inspect every component and replace what has failed. It is very basic and simple to repair.

Caroma toilet 12years old, concealed cistern. Water leaking around base when toilet is flushed. water level maintained when not flushing, so the leak must be between the cistern and the bowl. Had a plumber...

Fixing a leaky toilet is actually rather simple, requiring few tools and just a little time and effort. In looking at Caroma toilets on Google, they appear to be just a standard type of unit, and should present few if any problems for yourself or any handyman of modest skill.

If it is leaking around the base of the toilet - where the toilet sits on the floor, the repair item is a simple wax seal. Here is a tutorial to effect this repair: Replace Toilet Wax Ring. The wax ring is very inexpensive, usually $5 to $10 USD.

If the water is leaking from between the tank (cistern) and the toilet bowl, the job is even easier, as it does not require lifting and moving the entire toilet. A good tutorial for that repair is here: How to Replace Tank to Bowl Gasket . The gaskets, new nuts, bolts and rubber seals come in a kit and also cost only $5 to $10 USD.

I am sorry to hear your Plumber insisted you buy an entire new toilet, but do remember he is in the business of making money!

Toilet leaks into floor and lower level ceiling, no water on bathroom floor.

Either wax ring or sewage pipe is leaking. If you cant open the ceiling from below to look for leak you may have to remove toilet inspect pipe and look to see if it was leaking from wax ring and if it could have gone downstairs without leaking out too. If leak couldn't have come from wax ring the leak must be coming from a pipe in the floor. Find the simplest way to access it to repair it.

Old crane toilet, leak between tank and toilet, need new gasket.

You might try looking in an hardware store, or a plumbing shop that has been in business for a long time. Sometimes they have parts that can't be found elsewhere. I would take the old seal with you, if you still have it.
