SOURCE: the motor in my saw is smoking. What will

May need cleaning. Try using air pressure to clean. If not disassembling may be necessary to further look for problem. Could be rear bearing seized also. In any case don't use until you fix the problem or you'll burn it out.

Smoke out of sawzall

I don't think that it is only dirt. It could be the switch or possibly another electrical part causing the smoke. How does the saw run?? Can you look into the vents of the handle area and see it arcing excessively when running with no load, if so you have an electrical issue that would need to be fixed, Let me know if I can be of more assistance.

My coleman 18volt PMD8133XL drill smokes and has a burning smell when oressing triger

Hello, I hate when this happens to my tools. This could be a number of issues. I would think that the transistor that controls the motor speed is shot or the motor itself is loading the transistor causing the smoke, or the brushes internally of the motor are worn and causing the overheating, hence smoke. Is the unit new or well used?

Reduced RPM and smell smoke

Could be electrical problem, (brushes burnt, armature grounded or bearings starting to seize up) I don't think that I would use it till the problem is fixed. Could cause or create more expensive repair. Let me know and I will try and help

Smoking

Couple things I would look for first the condition of the blade do you see any buildup around the teeth like something has burnt on it. Also look into the area around the blade under the table (unplug saw first) to make sure that something hasn't dropped into it rubbing blade causing smoke. Also turn the blade by hand to make sure turning freely. The smoke could possibly be coming from a bearing. If it less than a year old Bosch has a pretty good warranty and you might look into that also. Let me know and I will dig deeper into it.

Clattering sound, then smoke

the clattering sound was probably a stone or something that was being bounced around by the rotating bush. It jammed which caused the belt to slip and cause the smoke you saw. You can probably get away with finding and clearing the jam but I would inspect the belt just to make sure.
