Are all of the sub-menus besides the clock unavailable or just the ones related to OTA (RF) signals? If it's just the OTA menus that are missing, change the source/input to TV. On all of my TVs, the channel scan option and related functions are blocked if the current input is not TV.

Changing the input/source depends on the TV. First make sure that an antenna or cable source on an RF (RG-59/RG-60 cable) is connected to the set. Next look for a Source or Input button on the original remote. Press this button. On some models, you navigate through the menu by pressing the Input/Source button repeatedly and then press OK to change the input. On other sets, you navigate with the arrow keys and then press OK. Some TVs may switch to the new source after a few seconds without any button presses; they don't need the OK button to be pressed. On a universal remote, you may find an Input/Source button but the button may not work with some codes for the manufacturer. (This can be frustrating since the basic functions (power, channel up/down, volume up/down) work; try a different code.)

Some TVs will also have an Input/Source button on the TV. This will work like the button on the remote. Use the Select button for the OK button. A few TVs have the option inside the on-screen menu. Press Menu and then look for a source option in a Tools or Setup menu.

I hope this helps. I have never had a TV where only the Clock menu is available. If that is the case with your TV, I don't know of a solution.

SOURCE: Channel stuck on TV

This may work;

Access the service menu by pressing, in order, whilst the tv is in stand-by mode:

info
menu
mute
power

when the tv comes back on you will have a service menu; select option 12 (reset) the tv will then switch off.

this will reset your TV back to factory defaults.

turn tv back on and you should be prompted to go through the plug and play setup again - go through everything and then all should start working OK (it did for me)

Accidently changed something and not able to get antenna tv now - do not ahve cable here at work

I am unable to see at a glance how to correct this but it is between its menu, channel and volume buttons to alter the settings it may be worth to run through the re-tune sequence below?

To preset a channel or to change a preset channel, follow the procedure below.
1) Press the POWER button to turn on the TV.
2) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears
on the TV screen.
3) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "CHANNEL SET".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
4) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "AUTO PRESET CH".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
The tuner scans and memorizes all active channels in your area.
? The TV distinguishes between standard TV channels and cable channels.
? When AUTO PRESET CH action is completed, the lowest memorized channel reappears on the
screen.
? When you press the CH(annel) ? or ? button after selecting "AUTO PRESET CH", the tuner
will stop at the memorized channels only.
? The TV may recognize TV channels to be CATV channels by the receiving conditions. In this
case, try AUTO PRESET CH action again in the fine receiving conditions.
? When AUTO PRESET CH is activated where there is no TV signal input,"NO TV SIGNALS"
will appear on the display after the completion of channel scanning.
[ADD/DELETE FUNCTION]
1) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears on the TV screen.
2) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "CHANNEL SET".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
3) Press the VOL(ume) ? button so that "ADD/DELETE" is selected.
4) Use the CH(annel) ? or ? button to select the
channel you wish to put into memory or to erase from memory.
Note: The menu will disappear in about 10 seconds.
Perform "ADD/DELETE" function while this display appears on the
screen.
? Press the VOL(ume) ? or ? button to light up the channel number
in LIGHT BLUE if you wish to add the channel into memory.
? Press the VOL(ume) ? or ? button to light up the channel number
in LIGHT RED if you wish to erase the channel from memory.
5) Press the MENU button to exit the menu.

Hope this helps.

TV no sound but pictures ok, changed channels ok

The mts/sap function on your television might be enabled. Locate the audio settings on your television and make sure you are set for either stereo or mono. You may have an audio or mts button on your remote. If not this should be in the menu.

The cable company may have made a recent change and the tv may need to be channel buffered or you may need to complete another channel scan.

Panasonic pv-c1350w channel/clock auto set

You are probably talking about the main menu that appears when the TV is taken off the AC power outlet, to get rid of this page just turn the tv off and on again and it should give you access to what ever channel was tuned before, if your game console has an RF out, your TV should be set to channel 3 ir 4, if the console has composite outs the change the channel until the TV goes to Aux in or Video in. Retrevo.com has an instruction manual available which you can download free, just in case you need more informantion, if the channel keys do not work, then you may have to get a universal remote ,they are fairly inexpensive and will come in very handy at least for the basic functions or just have theTV worked on.

Can't get abc2, abc3, etc. we have a digital set top box. how can we get it to show the chanells?

My set-top box has an 'autoscan' function in the channel menu under setup. Try that to see if it will be able to find the missing channels. Here, some time after the initial changeover to digital, they changed some of the channels, and a new scan was necessary to get all again.

Model BC248CLT. Unit locks on each channel with static noise as if squelch was misadjusted. Manual channel change and adjusting squelch does not eliminate the problem. Thanks

Not sure about your particular model but many modern scanners have a "wait" function that can be used during a scan. Actual details vary from model and manufacturer.

I do believe you are seeing that behavior. Quite often this can happen regardless os a manual squelch setting.

If for instance it was set to scan for a low signal level AND (pause or stop) at that channel then no matter what you turn the squelch to it will do what it was told from another menu.

You should check the advanced scanning section of your manual for any similar functions.

If you are using software to run the scanner this too may have a similar setting so check there too.

Element Electronics FLX2211B 22 in. LCD TV will reset every time

I have run into the same problem with a different model (32 inch from Circuit City). You may have found that there is almost no support from the co or web. I do not have an official solution but have some work arounds that have done the job for me.
WA#1 = after a channel scan tune to a HD/digital channel before you turn the set off. You need to do this each time for several times, because the set when turned on to a regular cable or analog station will default to skip all channels. After several times the set should remember your channels.
WA#2 = after a channel scan, go to the skip channel section of the menu, and if your remote has the colored buttons on the bottom scroll through the channels using the red and green (up and down on this menu) buttons. This apparently helps the set remember not to skip your scanned channels.
These are not glamorous solutions but appear to trick the TV into not re-setting the skip function for the channels.
Best of luck.

Channel stuck and can't record shows the same night

Your two problems are related - the DVD player lost contact with the local PBS channel, which altered its internal clock.

Add a red, white and yellow cable from one of the outs on the back of the cable box to the slot marked AV1 IN on the back of the Philips. Then redo the channel programming - press the System Menu button and change Tuning Band to CATV - it will then ask you if you want to do an Auto Channel Set - say Yes.

Once it is done with the channel programming, turn the DVD player to whatever channel PBS is on in your area's cable service. Then go back to System Menu - select Clock Set and go to Auto. Alternatively, you can select Manual under Clock Set and change the date by hand).

Good luck!

How to set clock on Orion VCR VR0419

Most late VCRs require the remote box to set the clock, timed recording etc. Assuming you have the Orion remote, it should have a programming or menu button, and the function you need can be selected from a list of options. If the remote is an aftermarket unit (non-Orion), it must have the capability to do the advanced setup (clock set etc.). Many aftermarket remotes only do basic channel selection, and tape functions (play, rewind, stop, etc.).
