The error code C449 relates to your fuser, and it signifies that it is overheating. To identify the exact issue you would have to check all of the thermistors for the fuser assembly, the heater itself, as well as the LGC board. Please note that unless you have the training, experience, and proper tools I would not advise trying these procedures. As you are dealing with the fuser you can injure yourself or damage the unit if the proper safety precautions are not followed. Contact your local Toshiba repair center and arrange for a repair tech to do them. These are the detailed steps to follow:
1) Check to ensure that your power voltage is normal. During operation of the unit your voltage should not be more than +/- 10% of normal.
2) Check the thermistors to ensure all connections are good, that the front and rear thermistors are in contact with the fuser roller so that they are able to detect correct temperatures. Also check to ensure the there connections are still holding correctly.
3) Check the heater itself to ensure that the coil is not broken, that the connections on the coil are still intact, and that the thermostat is not blown.
4) Ensure that all heater connections to the control board, especially the AC input connector and the LGC I/F connectors CN455 , are still good.
5) Check to ensure that the IH control board has no abnormalities such as burnt or melted components.
6) Check the LGC board to ensure all connectors, especially CN332 and CN334, are still connected. Also check to ensure the conductor pattern is not short or open circuited. If necessary replace the LGC board.
Beyond those steps you would have to clear the status counter. To do so you would have to follow the procedures outlined in the service manual. You can either purchase the manual online if you are capable of repairing the unit yourself, or have your local Toshiba repair shop send out a tech.
