Just fixed one yesterday.
the power pack was no good.AC wall wart,
power green LED blinked endless. and the white logo, LED is dead..
a new pack fixed it.
also the wrong pack used, ! do not mix them up. oops.
first year 54G, v1 uses 5vdc pack.
at v2, and up all want to 12vdc pack,
bottom sticker on above failed was v6.
you said recognized, does that mean the 4 rear Ethernet wired jacks are dead, or just wifi dead.?
first the ethernet ports must work, or wifi is doomed.

Should the username be the email address from At&t that controls the DSL line, or should it be the username to get into the Netopia modem?

SOURCE: Need to add Linksys WRT54G-TM wireless router with Linksys SPA 2102 phone adapter

your SPA2102-R seems to have one ethernet connection and one internet connection.
your WRT54G-TM seems to have one internet connection and 4 ethernet connections.

What you are trying to achive is; plug a ethernet cable into the ethernet connection on your SPA2102-R then plug the other end into the internet port of the WRT54G-TM

hope this helps, I have assumed that you intend to use a DSL broadband supplier not ADSL.

if you are changing service from DSL to ADSL then your WRT54G-TM needs to be first in line configured and working. then plug the internet port from the SPA2102-R into any of the WRT54G-TM ethernet ports.

SOURCE: Linksys WRT54G wireless router not compatible with Aztech modem?

Darvin, gotta love your ISP. Never fear......

if it isn't too much of a problem (knowing you have wireless setup done already), then do a factory reset on your router ** remember to copy the WEP Key if you have, or recall the PASS PHRASE so you won't have to reset all wireless devices ** Reset is located on back, you need a ball point pen to reach the reset switch.

Reset process: unplug, take ballpoint pen & insert into reset switch & plug unit back in. Sometimes tricky, but you should notice green light goes to yellow/orange upon resetting.

RESET or NOT - you want the Linksys set for ::

Connection Type - AUTOMATIC (for automatic discovery)
Router IP Address - 192.168.2.1

DCHP - ON, Addresses - 192.168.2.100 and allow 5-50 users
(for security, assign the number of DESKTOP + WIRELESS expected users +1, this way you don't get overrun without knowlege)

Take the cable from Aztech ETHERNET OUT to WAN on Linksys. (usually BLUE) (??) not 100% sure as I have the little silver pocket edition of the same Router. - power cycle (turn both DSL modem & Linksys off for 20 seconds. turn on DSL Modem, wait till it's about as ready as possible, turn on Linksys, should only take 20-30 seconds to power up & recognize.

VERIFY SETTINGS: access router - 192.168.2.1, goto STATUS. you should see IP Addressing, SubNet, DNS1 & DNS2 settings. If you do not, then you have no internet connection.

ALTERNATIVE,

Setup Linksys Router with COnnection Type: PPoE, you will need your ISP assigned ID & Password. Follow all other instructions properly.

If you still have problems, please contact me at 906-495-1707 or via Yahoo IM [email protected] or through this website.

I don't have a solution -- I'm having the exact same problem and I'm looking for a solution. Called Kindle tech support, and all they could recommend was to go to McDonald's to see if I can connect using their wireless. They DID say this Linksys WRT54G router is a compatible router with the 3rd Gen Kindle.

I have a Linksys WRT54G which I have hooked up to my older Dell computer successfully. The signal is excellentfor this one, called "Bob" for clarity. I am trying to hook up to "Bob"...

Sounds like you may be experiencing excessive interference in the WIFI space. Try setting the linksys router to use a different wireless frequency. (normally the available ones are 1 - 11).

My wireless g will not recognize my linksys wireless router, it recognizes all the routers at the stores near me but not mine. what can i do to connect it with my router?

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
If your network is secured then make sure that you are typing the correct network key.
also make sure that the DHCP server is enabled on the router.
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

I had to reload windows XP on a 2004 gateway media center pc. I cannot get it to "see" my linksys wireless router. It see neighborhood routers, but not the linksys, which is 4 feet away

In the back of the unit is a reset button, press it in for 5 seconds.

Unplug the unit and plug it back in, and see if it is recognized.

Then you will have to set it up again for security.

Here is the manual below if you need it.

Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G doesn't send a wireless signal out anymore. I did the driver update and still doesnt work.

1. check the RJ 45 cable see if you are getting a signal through a hard connection if not go in to the router and check the status. You may have to reset the router and to release/ renew the IP in the router. Call Linksys for there support they will be happy to do check-sums to see if the router is defective. you can also check their site for troubleshooting to check the router to see if there is a malfunction.

My linksys wrt54g v8 will not recognize the internet

Try to do a hard reset on the router. Hold down the button on the back of the router for 10 seconds. This will clear all of the settings out of its memory. Then try to connect again. If this doesnt work power down both your router and your cable modem. Let them sit for a minute and then plug in the modem and wait 30 seconds. THen plug in the Wireless router. The issue should resolve itself.

You will find that the laptop has it;s firewall turned on. Temporarily disable it (assuming that your router firewall is enabled) and it will work.
