SOURCE: The H4 & H2 do not work

Try backing up about 20 feet when you change to 2H. This allows for the front hubs to release for 2H operation if the actuator is functional. If it is not, the switch is the first place to look/replace after checking fuses and wiring for potential damage.

I NEED A WIRING DIAGRAM FOR A 120/240/24V ACME CONTROL TRANSFORMER.IT HAS H1,H3,H2 AND H4 ON ONE SIDE(PRIMARY). SIDE 2 HAS X2,F1,F2 AND X2 (SECONDARY). IT CAME WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS AND I NEED TO HOOK IT UP...

If you're wiring up 120 volts to the primary then you need to connect H1 and H3 together, then connect H2 and H4 together. Then connect one side of line (120 volts) to H1 and H3 and connect the other side of line (120 volts) to H2 and H4. Then for the 24 volts secondary X1 is one side of your 24 volts and X2 is the other side of your 24 volts.
For 240 volt primary connect H2 and H3 together, Then connect one side of your Primary (240 volts) to H1 and connect the other side of your primary (240 volts to H4. Then your Secondary 24 volts is still X1 and X2.

Zoom H4 Battery Problem

I am having the same problem with my Zoom-H2. I have 2 2650 mah rechargeables, and the draw is such that 20-30 minutes of record &/or playback kills the batteries. Last night I just turned the power on and did nothing. 5 hours later the batteries were dead...

This isn't a solution. It is a reaffirmation that you aren't crazy!

Service Code of H4-01

H2-01 Fusing Temp. to low
Use DIAG (SIM5-2) to checkthe heater lamp
Blinking operation.
If the heater lamp blinksnormally:
Check the thermistor and its harness.
Check thethermistor input circuit in the
control PWB.
If the heater lampdoes not light:
Check for heater lamp disconnection and
thermostatdisconnection.
Check the interlock switch.
Check the AC PWB andthe lamp control
circuit in the control PWB.
Use DIAG (SIM14) to cancel the trouble.

H2-0 Fusing unit temperature error
H4-0 The fusing unit doesn't heat up.
***ALWAYS DISCONNECT POWER WHEN WORKINGON MACHINE***
You have to reset fuser errors with simulation 14.Push P * C * then 14 then Start (the button you use to make copies)and it should reset the code. If not then replace the fuser.
SM5-1 should turn the lamp on. If lamp blinks on and off it is thethermistor, if it does not it is the lamp, but check the contacts onthe lamp/fuser -- they have been known to erode.
Also check thermal fuse, if defectivereplace.
