Question about Sharp Office Equipment & Supplies

Make sure you don't have a scratch on the glass of the scanner. If you have a mark, or scratch that matches the line ruled on your print, then there is your problem.
It;s also possible the scanner is jerking as it goes across the bed, which is causing the line. Is the line solid, dashed, bold, thin or just kinda there?

SOURCE: Sharp MX-4501N Mac drivers 1.1
You are using Bonjour to print to the MX-4501N which uses a generic post script driver. To fix this, you must install the printer using the proper driver from Sharp. For a first time install, download the drivers, install the drivers, restart, and install the printer as an IP printer, specify the IP address, it should be using the LDP (Line Direct Printing) protocol, and specify any additional optonal accessories you have on your MX-4501N. Hope this helps :)

Create them in Word perfect, but see if ms word will open them. You can likely get word to print them. You can also try the collate feature of the printer in the printer settings.
