Suggest you try starter fluid as a diagnostic. Remove air filter and spray 1 second short burst directly into carburetor, promptly pull starter cord.

If it fires, then no fuel from carburetor. Comment here for further assistance.

Did you put the priming bulb in the right way around?
Did you check it pumps fuel?
Did you turn out the idle jet screw 1 1/2 turns?
Is the plug the right gap?
Air filter clean and not blocked?
Check compression?

An engine only needs fuel and air in the right mix, a spark, and compression.

SOURCE: disassembly of poulan woodshark model p3314wsa to

This is an IPL for a Poulan P3314 (may not be your saw), It seems there are 2 different size hoses, I suggest you disturb only what is necessary, take a digital photo, then a small sample of both sizes to a local saw outlet. 12" of both sizes should be ample, ask for his guidance before you order.

The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best; components are listed but may be on different illustrations.

If not your saw try here (there are 3 "P3314WSA"s available):

The dash number of your serial number is the type.

The IPL can be used as a disassembly guide too, although you should not need disassembly beyond removing a cover or 2. Good luck with your project If I can be of more help you can reply below. HTH

What damage can i cause by hooking the fuel line up backwerds

None, it shouldn't run if your connect the two pipes wrong. I am thinking it is a simple carburetor, one flow pipe in and the other is a float bowl overflow.

Your manual isn't much help.

and there is a zoomable exploded diagram here, but resolution isn't high enough.

Here is your carb connected to the filter in high res. And that carb doesn't have a bowl or overflow.

My poulan woodshark model # p3314wsa bogs when I start to cut how do I fix it runs fine when not cutting

Remove the muffler, and check the spark arrestor to see if its clogged with Carbon. Clean it by either wire brushing the carbon, or heat the spark arrestor with a propane bottle torch, and the carbon will burn off.

I have a poulan woodshark i traded for a old tv it has great compression and great spark but it wont start i think they might have messed with the carb what should i do thanks

Turn the carb adjustment screws all the way in and then turn them 1 full turn out and try that. If it starts it will probably require some fine tuning or some tweaking to get it to start. I also suggest you clean and kit the carb just to you know it has a good diaphragm and no clogs

My Poulan Woodshark 14" type 2 (-2 on serial

Fuelleaking from the cap will not stop it running, 40-1 with good quaility two stroke oil shoule be fine, if there is a good spark and fuel at the plug, you need to check that the piston has not picked up, the hottest part of the engine is the exhaust side, so remove the muffler, and take a look at the piston skirt throught the open exhaust port, any signs of scuffing and it will need to come apart to check the damage.

Put new spark plug in new gas clean filter followed starting directions want start

The fuel system may need tending to. It may need new fuel lines, a cleaned fuel filter and the carburetor cleaned and adjusted. If this is an older unit, (even a couple years old) it may require some new internal carburetor parts as well. I don't like being the bearer of bad news, but this isn't always an easy fix. Your specific problem has to be diagnosed and by process of elimination, the problem resolved.
