SOURCE: Viper remote starter sets off alarm.

Whoever hooked up your system did not hook up the factory alarm disarm and arm wires. Your car thinks it is being stolen as a result of this. You need to get a wire diagram of your car and hook up the proper wires.

SOURCE: 2004 Ford Explorer not starting

Is the engine turning over? When you turn the key to the on position, does it behave normally? IE, do the battery and airbag and other lights come on when you turn the key to on position?

SOURCE: 2002 Dodge Stratus fuse box diagram.

If this is factory installed alarm the fuse most likely is in the fuse box under teh hood and market on the lid. It should be located next to the battery. If this is an after market alarm that was installed you will need to locate the alarm speaker and trace the lines back toward the battery and locate the fuse on the wires.

SOURCE: Replaced the battery in my car need to reset my viper alarm

Alarms are not supposed to shut down the engine while you are driving if it was installed properly. Could be another installed accessory or the car itself has a problem. If it was in anti-hijack mode, you would receive a warning like honking horn. You may have to visit a repair shop and maybe your local Viper dealer to have them take a look. DC

Viper Alarm app says Not Armed but locked

If the Viper Alarm app is showing that the alarm is "Not Armed" but the vehicle is locked, it is possible that the alarm system is not communicating properly with the app.
One solution is to try resetting the alarm system by disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes help to reset the communication between the alarm system and the app.
If this does not work, it may be necessary to contact Viper customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide troubleshooting tips or suggest a software update for the app or alarm system.

Clifford g5 alarm how do i reset it after i was checking fuses it wont let me start the car

The car won't start because the Clifford alarm has a starter interrupt wire where the start wire runs through the alarm system module/relay. The unit then must still be active for the car not to start. If pressing the disarm/unlock button on your Clifford key FOB does not turn the system off, you will after to do it manually. You will need to locate the manual override button installed somewhere in the car that is connected to the alarm system. Turn the ignition switch to "on" or "run" and within 10 seconds press the manual override switch. That will turn the alarm system off and allow the car to be driven normally. I would then take the vehicle to an authorized Clifford or other DEI (Viper) install shop and have them diagnose your apparent problem.

I have a viper alarm system in my truck and while I was hooking up subs today I touched the positive to metal and shocked my battery and now my alarm system won't work? Won't lock unlock remote start won't...

Reset the alarm by lifting the negative lead on the battery for 2 minutes then reconnect it. Test the alarm. It should be in its default out of the box state now. If the problem still exists, you may have damaged the circuit in the alarm box.

HOW TO FIND THE VALET SWITCH IN A 2000 DODGE STRATUS

The valet button on the Viper 5701 is located on the antenna which is normally installed on the front windshield. Viper calls this button the "control button".

I have 2004 chev tahoe w/ a viper remote starter system, but no key fob. I replaced the car battery & now the cars computer won't let it start. How do I reset the computer?

The car's computer wont let it start?
Well, if you changed the battery and the viper alarm is the issue; locate the push button valet/programming switch. Turn the ignition on, press and release the switch. The alarm will disarm and you can start the vehicle.
To put the alarm in valet, turn the ignition on then off, within 10 seconds press and release the valet switch. The LED will illuminate solid to show that the system is in valet.

Parking and cab lights don't flash where arming or disarming. Also Lights don't say illuminated when remote start is on. Did i turn this function off?

It's possible that the parking kight wire is no longer connected or, the (alarm's) fuse for the parking is blown. The parking light fuse for the 5701 is located behind the door on the alarm module.

Alarm System

No it won't reset your alarm system. As part of the bit-writer program, anything you set or change in the alarm menu will remain the same. The only thing that can happen is if you have a DEI 520t back up battery, it may trigger the alarm upon re-connecting. No biggy.
