SOURCE: brushes are not spinning. think the belt is off or

There is no belt in this machine. The brushes are turning by an air driven turbine. The turbine has a pivot bushing made of steel inside of it that gets rusty because of the water that is running through it. The turbine will have to be replaced and they are expensive. Unfortunately, replacing the turbine and not a lasting solution. It will do it again and again. It is designed poorly.

SOURCE: shark v1510 How do I replace the belt?

remove the outside sliding cover... remove 2 screw in from of housing, and also the screw holding the wheel on the brush head cap side of the housing. Once screws are rmoved, you can remove brush head cap and belt cover. Pull down on belt cover to remove. It is held by screw crossing the top of the cover from the side. Belts are hard to find, but can be ordered from shark web site (2) for 7.95 and shipping.

I had the same problem. Some one should stock these belts in the states, because Shark outsources thier call center to India, which sucks. It took 20 minutes on the phone to communicate through the noise and language barrier just to order a belt!

SOURCE: roller brush won't spin (bissel 6390/3910 series)

I just fixed mine. It took me all of 10 minutes. Pull the brush out. Stand the brush on end on the edge of your study work bench/table top. while holding the brush vertical( on end) take a small phillips screwdriver and tap using a hammer on the metal pin you see in the middle of the brush. Keep tamping and the whole assembly will come apart. What you will have then is a long metal shaft, 2 bearings(they are acutally skateboard wheel bearings same number same make). Clean the gobbed up hair with a razor blade and then reassemble by tapping back together. The bearing wont be worn out because they are way too tough for a vaccum. We used ride down hills on them! a ten minute fix wow and you wont have to drive to vacuum shop and spend $$ and time

SOURCE: The brushes won't spin. I

Usually when the brushes won't turn it is due to a bad turbine. Insert a screwdriver into the square hole that the pin on the brush fits into, and see if it turns. If it is seized up, the turbine assembly will need to be replaced.

Miele Compact C2 Electro + Powerline. Can I fix the electrical connection between the hose and the beater head. It's spotty so the beater head action turns on and off with motion, randomly.

It may be worn carbon brushes in the beater head and yes it can be fixed. You can try giving the head a thump on the side to help seat the motor brushes.

How do I fix my vacuum the brush will not spin

Lubricate each end of the roller brush with motor oil. Bearings inside the roller brush need lubrication for the brush to turn easily. Remove any pieces of thread that have wrapped around the roller brush. If it does not spin after doing the above steps, then either the belt is slipping or the bearings are severely damaged in the roller brush. Then you need either a smaller belt or a new roller brush.

Where is belt located on Hoover wind tunnel vacum. And how to replace it. My brushes are not spinning.

Its usually located underneath the body of the unit, turn it upside down and you should see the beater brush. You need to open the bottom cover to get at the brush and drive belt.

I have model#UD40350 total pet compact. The lower vacuum brushes don.t turn.

Hi! It sounds like you have a broken or stretched belt. The belt controls the brush roll. If you are using the vacuum on carpet, you need the brushes to spin to agitate the carpet fibers. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to replace your belt. I have also included a link to the instruction manual if needed.

    1. Lay cleaner flat and flip to expose nozzle base. To remove nozzle guard, use Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws.
    2. Lift and remove brush roll and dispose of old belt if you see one.
    3. Slide belt (style 19) onto motor shaft.
    4. Place new belt on area of brush roll without bristles.
    5. With new belt in place, pull and slide brush roll into nozzle making sure that the brush roll end caps are in the correct orientation.
    6. Replace all screws to replace nozzle guard.

We have a Miele Silver Moon vacuum that isn't

Hi dear. There are two type of attachments for this vacuum cleaners to pick up the pets hair, fluff & so on.They call it"Turbo & Power Brush".Turbo brush operates with machines suction & Power one operates with small electric motor which is built in the unit. They work with the same prenciple. There is a belt drives the rotary brush.OK.there are two small yellow screw underneath the unit. Please undo them, take of the cover & clean the rotary brush, check for the belts tension. It should be enough tight to drive the brush. If not ask for spare part from Miele in your country. After cleaning please put it back in order. To test it,attached to the vacuum.Turn the power on for Turbo brush,as long as suction starts, brush should start turning too.For the Power one, there should be power button on the handle to turn it on & off.Press it.It should work.On both of the unit, brush should spin good & strong enough to do the job when it's attached the surface you are vacuuming.Check the brush after each use, cleaned if neccesary. I hope that helps.Thanks.

My brush will not turn, and the brush control is stuck on "off"

I have had problems with the belts on my Mach 5 overheating (smell of burning rubber) and also with the motor overheating and shutting down.
I learned the hard way that one of the issues might be that the roller/brush on the bottom of the unit has a metal bearing inside the roller/brush that can become clogged with hair (both human and pet hair) which effects performance of the unit.
    It’s fairly easy to fix.
Lay the vacuum on the floor so that you can see the roller/brush. Then remove the phillip head screws that hold the protective plastic plate over the roller/brush. (There are about 6 screws that hold this plastic protective plate in place) Also, you will be removing the (1) screw that also holds the plastic plate over the belts. There are (2) belts that you can remove and when in doubt replace these (2) belts for around $9.00.
Once you have the protective plastic plate off that covers the roller/brush disconnect the belt is around the roller. Take the roller and cut off any hair that is wrapped around the roller. Next, grab the roller by each end and twist the ends caps and (1) of the ends will unscrew. Once you have unscrewed one of the ends remove any hair or dust that is trapped under this cap. (Be careful not to lose the small metal washer that sit on top of the bearing)You will notice under this cap is a metal bearing that can become clogged and jammed with hair. The hair should come out fairly easy and allow the brush to spin fairly easy once you have screwed the end caps back in place test that it spins freely. If it doesn’t spin freely replace the roller/brush with a new one for about $23.00.
When you put the belts back on the thick rubber one (Belt # 40201-271) has probably become stretched and should be replaced for about $3.00. The small diameter belt that goes over the roller/brush probably does not usually need to be replaced and does not usually fit very tight. I have heard that people will take the small roller/brush belt and turn it upside down to get a better fit.
I just did this on my Mach 5 and it runs like a new machine. I did end up replacing the roller/brush head.
Hopefully you will find this useful.

Took apart turbo brush and don't know where to put belt to make brush spin...what two things should it connect?

    Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
There are 2 types of Turbo Brushes, the electric type driven by a power head or power nozzle most likely used on a canister type vacuum or a central vacuum driven by electricity and there is an air driven power head. In either case the belt should be riding on the brushroll pulley on the end or if it is an air driven power head, sometimes the pulley section is in the middle, and the other end would run off the motor pulley / shaft. If you have a flat belt it is suggested that you change the belt every 4 to 6 months, if you have a geared belt, suggested change would be one year or so. I am not sure on the Brand of turbo brush you have, but you can refer to your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or the yellow pages, or contact the manufacturer for a phone # or website address, some times if you have a air driven turbo power brush it may be cost efficient to replace the brush instead of repairing the turbo brush. Just a suggestion.
Example: www.turbobrush.com – this may or may not be the website address not knowing the brand name.
