SOURCE: brushes are not spinning. think the belt is off or
There is no belt in this machine. The brushes are turning by an air driven turbine. The turbine has a pivot bushing made of steel inside of it that gets rusty because of the water that is running through it. The turbine will have to be replaced and they are expensive. Unfortunately, replacing the turbine and not a lasting solution. It will do it again and again. It is designed poorly.
SOURCE: shark v1510 How do I replace the belt?
remove the outside sliding cover... remove 2 screw in from of housing, and also the screw holding the wheel on the brush head cap side of the housing. Once screws are rmoved, you can remove brush head cap and belt cover. Pull down on belt cover to remove. It is held by screw crossing the top of the cover from the side. Belts are hard to find, but can be ordered from shark web site (2) for 7.95 and shipping.
I had the same problem. Some one should stock these belts in the states, because Shark outsources thier call center to India, which sucks. It took 20 minutes on the phone to communicate through the noise and language barrier just to order a belt!
SOURCE: roller brush won't spin (bissel 6390/3910 series)
I just fixed mine. It took me all of 10 minutes. Pull the brush out. Stand the brush on end on the edge of your study work bench/table top. while holding the brush vertical( on end) take a small phillips screwdriver and tap using a hammer on the metal pin you see in the middle of the brush. Keep tamping and the whole assembly will come apart. What you will have then is a long metal shaft, 2 bearings(they are acutally skateboard wheel bearings same number same make). Clean the gobbed up hair with a razor blade and then reassemble by tapping back together. The bearing wont be worn out because they are way too tough for a vaccum. We used ride down hills on them! a ten minute fix wow and you wont have to drive to vacuum shop and spend $$ and time

Usually when the brushes won't turn it is due to a bad turbine. Insert a screwdriver into the square hole that the pin on the brush fits into, and see if it turns. If it is seized up, the turbine assembly will need to be replaced.
