SOURCE: oven door will not open after self clean

There are two easy things to try to fix this.

First, unplug the oven, or turn off the circuit breaker to it - so long as power is cut to the oven. Leave it for about 5 minutes, then plug it back in or turn the circuit breaker back on and try to open the door.

If that doesn't work, turn on the self-cleaning cycle again, and let it run for about 15 minutes. Then turn it off and wait another 15 minutes, and see if the door will open.

If neither of those work, you have a more serious problem with the locking mechanism. Either a bad solenoid or a damaged heat locking mechanism. Both of these will require removing the stove top to access and repair. Let me know if the above suggestions fix the problem. If they don't, I will get you more specifics on repairing the locking mechanism - assuming you're up for that.

SOURCE: Oven Door Locked

the oven door does lock during self clean, otherwise it will not work. however, the door is supposed to unlock after the oven has cooled. if it is still locked, turn the oven to self clean and wait about a minute and then hit cancel and see if the door unlocks. if not, there may be a probelm with the door lock mechanism. yes. open the oven door to the first "click". it kind of stops about a quarter of the way open. most ovens you grab both sides of the oven door and pull up. some models have a couple of screws you have to take out before you can remove the oven door. then lay it down with the insie of the door facing up and take out all the screws holding the oven door together. some may be on the sides or the top and bottom of the door. when apart, clean first with easy off, then clean several times with windex till streaks are gone. assemble door in reverse and put back on stove.

How can i clean the glass between my oven door,i noticed streaks and it makes the oven look dirty

Whirlpool door are a bit difficult to remove from the stove. the owners manual may tell you what you need to do to remove it. Once you have it off then the door can be taken apart by removing tye screws that hold it together. This should be done on a flat surface and taking a lot of care. Remember how it comes apart and reverse the procedure when putting it back together. If you break a glass they are expensive to replace if available.

How do you use the self-cleaning ??? i lost my manual within minutes of getting....

we have a sears kenmore model and this is how we do it. remove everything from stove including the racks, close oven door, slide door lock latch to the right till it locks the door. turn knob to clean. when it is done cleaning it will turn off by itself. on some models the door latch will not slide open when done. just wait for it to cool if this is the case. it should tell on the touch pad on stove the hours that it takes to clean it. good-day !

Jenn-Air stove locked

After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off AFTER THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. If the temperature knob is turned to off BEFORE the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this should happen, return the temperature knob back to CLEAN, unlock the door, THEN turn the temperature knob off.
