SOURCE: windows live messenger error 800700e

This error indicates a problem with Messenger on your machine, not a problem with the
service.

You may be able to quickly solve the problem by installing the following components simply by
downloading the MSI files linked following and just running them to install:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3rc/dw20.asp
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3rc/msvcrt.asp
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3qfe/contacts.asp

After these are installed, try Messenger again.
