SOURCE: EPSON DFX 8500 ERROR CODE E5 THEN POWERS OFF

It would sound like a defective encoder sensor, almost ANY copy repair shop can fix this for you, you can try to buy the manual and fix it your self but that is NOT recommended

SOURCE: printhead won't go left of center

Check the 2 silver rails that the carriage rides on, they need to have a little bit of oil on them. I f they are dry to the touch, they need to be lubricated with a little bit of a light weight oil. This could also be caused by bad keyboard. Do all the keys seem to work? Try turning machine off and move carriage by hand to the left then turn on and see what happens.

This error indicates the Printhead was unable to tilt normally on its axis. Check for spilled ink around the printhead that prevents it from moving right to left. The printhead could also be stuck to the wiper blade if the printer was turned off during a cleaning cycle. If you turn the x-axis motor does it move the printhead forward and backward? Check the process drive gears for damage and ensure the gears are timed correctly. Check to see if ink has spilled on the head tilt gear train (left side of printhead)

Printer epson lq2190 printhead cannot move

Hi Lucky0855,

This sounds like a motor problem. I would suggest unplugging the power and gently cleaning any inner parts of the printer you can reach, especially by the cartridge carriage. If that doesn't work, the printer will need professional maintenance.

Hope that helps and good luck! 9fba6b33-ce3b-4004-81ec-831c67ed029b.png

The printhead is stuck in the tilted position, or is not able to tilt forward to the print position due to obstructions.

Has ink spilled around the printhead that is preventing it from moving? (you should be able to push the printhead from left to right) MAKE SURE THE PRINTER HAS BEEN OFF FOR 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE PRINTHEAD !!!
Is the printhead stuck to the Wiper Blade?
Check the process drive gears for damage and make sure they are aligned correctly.
Has ink spilled into the tilt gears assembly or on its drive train? (left side of printer)

I have the same problem...what has anyone else done?

1. Look inside, and see if a tan colored belt is secure and not loose. if you are able to move the belt and the printhead does not move, it means the clip on the printhead is damaged. Really not worth repairing.

2. since its giving you a printer error and not a scanner error, then most likely the printhead is in the cleaning assembly and the locking mechanism will not release. it could be a simple as manually lowering it. Look in the printer, just to the left of the printhead, there should be a lever in the up position, with a pencil or maybe a small screwdriver, see if you can move it backward (toward the front of the printer) and manually move the printhead left and back to right, turn the printer back on and see if it helps.

Cannot tell which inkjet color cartridge needs changing

Disregard the monitor information and rely on the printer.

On the left panel of the printer are your indicator lights and buttons. Push the button immediately to the left of the 'ink drop' light [looks like a little tear drop]. Open the cover and the printhead assembly will move to the left and stop. Look very closely and find that little 'ink drop' imprinted into the plastic in the very middle of the printer where the printhead assembly stopped. That 'ink drop' will line up wih the ink cartridge that needs replacing. Push that button on the left again and the printhead assembly will either return to the 'replace' position, or move to the next ink cartridge that needs replacing. Keep pushing that button just once at a time until the printhead assembly identifies all cartridges that need replacing and moves into the 'replace' position. This 'replace' position will be on the right side of the printer where the opening occurs that allows the top cover of the printhead assembly to open.

Change the appropriate cartridges and you should be good to go.

Epson Stylus Color 660. Not working

You could try on old Epson trick which may work and re-sync the timing system.
With the printer turned off, but still plugged into the mains, move the head unit manually back and forth three or four times. You will need to release the head stop first ... (underneath the printhead at the left side a simple lever affair - use a small flat blade screwdriver ... gently). When you've done this, and returned the printhead back to its normal starting position, moving the little stop lever in place, turn on the printer and test it out. With a bit of luck this will do the trick.

Epson lq 2090 matrix printer

This may be a mechanical problem- perhaps the belt which pulls the printhead back and forth is slipping a cog tooth in the drive mechanism. Check this belt for proper tension, and that the cogs are in good condition.

There is also a home sensor located at the left-hand side of the printhead movement area which sets the home position of the head, and from this, the start of printing is determined. If this home position sensor is defective, this will cause problems. One certain Epsons, this sensor was a switch, and this would become erratic.

These are possibilities to check...
