The ice maker stops making ice if the power goes off. I try to get it to work again by reseting every switch and know available. then it magically works for awhile ?
That ice maker is pretty cool... as was the information you backed it up with (pun intended). Nice.
Most the rest the world has a HIDDEN screw ADJUSTMENT for cube size ... You have more buttons to push.
I was watching you firing off questions 11+ hours ago... wondering if you were going into shock... or just very excitable.
I decided to wait to see how many of my fix-ya peers wanted to try to swim out to save you(the first thing they teach... the person you are trying to save... is going to DROWN YOU... if you give them a chance).
Serenity is the word I'm looking for... (2 Cabernet serene).
If you are in the mood read on.
Refrigerators need to stabilize (manuals say HOURS... days for ice-makers)) once power is restored. Bouncing around like a ping pong ball (as you describe yourself) is probably the worst thing you can do... Not only do they (refrigerators) need to be square and level... they need an operator who is willing to read the owners manual or at least PAUSE FOR A MOMENT & take advice from someone who has (no/yes?).
If you agree in principle.. read on.
Leading some-one through a trouble remotely can be quite problematic... The challenge is to glean as much from the typically incredibly sparse information... get all SHERLOCK HOLMES.. and divine an solution that is elegant, profound, correct... short (I fail miserably at that)... and perhaps useful.
Not unlike your Chevy Cavalier... mashing buttons in a wild eyed frenzy is not all that productive. Tossing questions faster than beads at the mardi gras DOES NOT SEEM to have inspired any FIXER to step forward into the YOUR (Cavalier) storm... A rather SIMPLE PROBLEM... By the way Enhanced Tracking Systems light... means you manually turned it off while you were bouncing around in your (a button on the end of your turn signal (I think))...
((other than being your car has nothing to do with belt tension))
If you agree... Read on.
BUT I hold the notion that NO-ONE can improve if they don't know they have a problem.
The fact that your ice-maker puts out cubes at all means it works.
When it stops... if there is water in the tray... it works!
We are down to a really small list of reasons it will stop...
but without the actual model number of your REFRIGERATOR...
I will be forced to give a very verbose answer on all the various types of fill stoppers... It's 5:30am and my sweetheart wants to have coffee now
Comment me back... if you are not in a rush.
Water/Ice in the tray?
If you are nice I'll tell you the tension pulley is the SMALL one
with the 1/2 inch drive square showing... That is the secret way to PRESS IT AWAY WHEN INSTALLING YOUR SERPENTINE BELT...
If it is loose...
get a new one without that broken tension SPRING.
2002 cavalier shop manual ... Haynes (is okay)
