SOURCE: Oven shut down during Self-cleaning

tde, sounds like your thermal fuse (TC0) opened on the back side of the oven. If this opens, it will shut the oven down. This happens alot during self cleaning on built ins. Sometimes I have to re-route the tco to a different area to prevent this from happening. Your part number is 4451442. You will have to pull the oven out far enough to remove the back paneling and replace the fuse....Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Door locked after cancelling self clean option

Open the door. In the upper left corner, press and hold the door switch (the one that controls the inside light). Start a self clean cycle and wait for lock motor to engage. When the lock stops moving it should be in the unlocked position. Press cancel to stop the self clean.

If you need more assistance let me know.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Ran Self Cleaning - Display went blank & Oven Door stayed locked

You need thermostat limiter #8300802. It is on the back of the stove behind some sheet metal towards the top. With shipping this part is about $39.00. But don't waste your money. If you replace it, it will burn out again! I am currently trying to find a way for either a class action lawsuit or a total recall. Kitchenaid/Whirpool is well aware of this problem. A $1500.00 stove and it won't self clean.

SOURCE: After using the self-clean cycle, display panel went black and oven door stayed locked.

Happens alot dont feel bad , self clean mode runs the elements at 500 deg. to cook off everything possible , what happens is the cabinet gets to hot and heats saftey temp. fuses until they go out and they are not resetable. they are always located in different areas of ranges but usaully in the back. you can ohm them out to check them if you have a meter.let me know if you have any other questions.

Samsung stove. There is no heating when selecting bake, conventional bake or self clean. There is indication of E-08 error displayed I replaced oven temperature sensor, but the problem still exists.

Question edited for clarity, funky punctuation, and spelling of maker.

E8 is just a generic 'the oven isn't working code'. The most obvious thing is a failed element. Check it with a digital multimeter.

Whirlpool gas range self-clean cycle produces FSE1 on display and door doesn't lock, audible alarm sounds

I found this on an appliance forum. It sounds the same as your problem. They say the code is F5 E1. Apparently the door lock latch is stuck.

Whirlpool Electric Range Model # RF369LXPB. Self cleaning function does not work. A code displays after self cleaning function has been on for about 3 minutes. The code is F5EO. What does this mean?

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. It means the door lock and door switch dont agree. Check the door switch does the oven light go on and off? does the door lock? It is either the door lock or oven door switch that controls the light.

Oven will not work.

This is what GE recommends for your oven:

“F—and a number or On models with a door latch, • The latch may have been moved, even if only slightly,
letter” flash in the display if a function error code appears from the locked position. Make sure the latch is moved
during the self-cleaning cycle, to the right as far as it will go.
check the oven door latch.
You have a function error code. • Touch the Clear/Off pad. Allow the oven to cool for
one hour. Put the oven back into operation.
If the function code repeats. • Disconnect all power to the range for 5 minutes
and then reconnect power. If the function error
code repeats, call for service.

Self-cleaning gas oven

Door lock motor has probably failed.....Self clean on many
ovens can be a self destruct mode. Door latch motors, sensor
probes and even the electronic controls can be destroyed by
this operation. On many freestanding stoves the lock motor is located in the right rear (looking from the front) with a long rod connected to the lock. remove the motor and unhook the rod from the motor cam. Sometimes bending a coat hangar into a hook and sliding from the right side into the lock you can unlock the door.
