Question about Lands Phones

Open Question

Would you mind telling me why my landline indicates there is "no line"? I have checked all connections and the phone is fully charged but no dial tone. This is the 4th attempt at contacting you.

SOURCE: bought phone EX18560 Series yesterday.

I have two older (2002) model cordless Uniden phones that require the handsets to return to their original factory bases. If they have rested on another Uniden base, even of the same model, there is no dialup tone. Replace to the original base and you should be back in service.

SOURCE: No dial tone on handset

It may not be registed with the main unit. You may need to register the handset. With my uniden all i have to do is put it in the main base until it says what handset it is (it should be a number).

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask

SOURCE: Panasonic KX-TG1033 suddenly stopped working.

I just found this on another board, and it did work

One disappointing problem with this phone that I discovered only 74 days after purchasing the system: The base units "decides" for some strange reason "to go on a strike" and stop responding. This problem is documented on Panasonic's web site and is solve-able by simply disconnecting power from the base unit and re-connecting it. This works, but somewhat lowers the confidence in the "perfectness" of this product.

SOURCE: handsets wont work at all

it may be that the handset is registred to another base unit-
we had one base and one handset replaced by uniden, but the second (old) handset was still registred to the old base, therefore everytime we tried to deregister the handset it was looking for the old (replaced) base and of course could not connect and therefore wouldnt deregister. still havent figured out what to do yet

SOURCE: No dial tone

Please disconnect your cordless phones from telephone jacks throughout the home. The "line in use" is say that you have a short on the line, or a phone off the hook. So disconnect lines, then replug 1 corded phone in to check for dial tone. If working, continue to plug in 1 phone at a time(rechecking working one each time) to find the equipment that is causing you heartache.

My Binatone Idect Edge single DECT has no dial tone, just a buzz. The display is working, but I cannot ring out, or receive calls.

Did you connect another phone to make sure that wiring is not a problem? Because you visually check it, doesn't mean that there is not a problem.

Have purchased this producct plugged it in no ringtone no flashing to indicate incoming call have operational line with dialing tone, help please asap as only line into work

I am assuming that you can hear dial tone on the handset, and you can make calls on the phone. If this is correct, then I would recommend contacting BT and getting the phone replaced with one that works. http://www.bt.com/help/home/landline.html

Chat to customer agent landline reported to faults still not repaired

Where I live, my landline company is responsible only up to a "demarcation point" - this is a box on the wall near where the phone line enters the house.

There is an RJ11 socket on the box,

chat-customer-agent-landline-reported-2iujiwfvuy020nygunv3yc1j-5-0.jpg and the technician (or you) plugs a known-working phone into the socket, and listens for a dial tone. If there's no dial tone, then the tech takes corrective action - replacing cable, or confirming correct operation of the distribution box on the boulevard / utility pole, or contacting billing to reactivate the line.

If I dial 611 from my or a neighbour's landline, they'll typically have tech to my door in 24 hours.

Beyond the 'demarcation point' (ie inside my house), it is my responsibility to ensure the internal phone wiring is operational.

Check your local thrift stores for a replacement phone, if necessary.

Your local hardware store will likely carry a 'tone & probe" set, which will indicate if a phone socket is wired properly, and can be used to follow a wire through walls / ceilings / floors.

I can't hear the other people on my plantronics cs 70 which is connected with my cisco ip phone 7941 phone

• Check that all cords and jacks are connected correctly.

• Check that the base has power (red indicator light) and the headset battery is fully charged.

• Try other phone configuration dial settings on the base unit. Ensure the selected number is in line with the position indicator.

• Ensure you are in headset mode. Press the call control button to select correct mode. The talk indicator light on the base is green.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

Hello there! Daniel Busa with Dish Network customer service here. One thing i've noticed is if you have a phone line splitter on the wall jack they will tend to go bad often. Another thing you can try is pressing menu 6-3 go to connection hit select wait for it to finish, then go to dial out and hit select if that doesn't work check your line.

Will not dial out on landline in the tone mode but

There's something wrong with the base unit that connects to the phone line. It's not sending any audio to the phone line, which would explain why tone dialing doesn't work and people can't hear you. (Pulse dialing doesn't need the audio tones so it will still work.)

I've never run across one doing this before. The problem is almost certainly some electronic failure, and I doubt there's anything you can do other than replacing the thing. If this is still under any warranty it should be up to the manufacturer to repair or replace it. If you got this from VoIP service provider, contact their customer service department.

There is a solution which is easily implemented if you have discontinued phone service from your landline carrier.
1. Find the "block" where the landline enters your home and disconnect the wire which enters the block from the phone co.
2. At this point the wires in your home are "dead". If you had a dial tone before, you should no longer.
3. From your [email protected] router connect the phone line output to one of the regular phone jacks in the wall.
4. You should be able to now connect your vtechs to any outlet in your home --- regardless of the distance from the router.
5. You also can use your old regular wired phones if you wish to.

One of the phone handsets of the Panasonic KX-TG563 trio gives me static w/ dial tone and then shuts down or it gives me the message that "System is busy/Line in use" with no dial tone. If I get closer to the base unit it seems to work but w/ alot of static. The base unit phone works good and the other handset works ok too. The battery shows fully charged however, when I take the battery out to try a reset when I put it back in the battery indicator show very low. I tried switching batteries w/ the othe hand sets it doesn't help.

Thanks
