We have a front loading Frigidaire Affinity washer. It stopped after the cycle started and is now saying pause and the door will not lock and start cycle. We have tried resetting it, inspecting the door lock assembly and tested the lock itself. On the ohms meter it read 14.45. I believe it is good from everything I've read. Please help.

I see that your Frigidaire washer, FAFW3517KW, is constantly showing you pause, when you press start it flashes the pause again, and that the door lock light does not come on. You could be seeing a couple of different possible reasons this is happening such as your control panel, door lock assembly, or door switch. Hello Mary Fortner - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

Hello - This particular issue can be caused by quite a few reasons. Washer could be experiencing a communication error from the main control board, faulty door lock assembly or the timer itself is not operating correctly. Did you notice a humming noise? If so, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned or could possibly have another issue with the door lock assembly or pressure switch. You can also press and hold the start/pause and cancel button together at the same time for approximately 30 seconds to display an error code on the LED. What error code does it display? However, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the washer.

is there any water in the drum if no then it could be your door catch try shuting the door with a bit more force or pushing on the door when you turn on the machine if it does not start then it will be that you will have to replace your door catch

If the washer fills with water, but will not start the wash cycle or spin, it is 1 of to things. the most common for frigidaire front load affinitys is the door lock assembly. I have had to replace numerous of these. if the door lock indicator is not on when it tries to wash, you need to replace the door lock assembly. if the door lock indicator is on, but wont wash, it is likly that you have a bad motor control board.

press cancel. (turns off washer)
press start/pause (wake up)
hold cancel and start/pause 10sec

last error code will come up.

check wires connections to the door lock..

replace door lock..
