Question about Toshiba Televison & Video
There is an easy way to adapt the cable.
Any good computer shop will have the adaptor.
Take the HDMI cable to them, and tell them you want an adaptor to go to composite signal.
(I know that they're made, many of the graphics cards I use to build computers come with that cable adaptor)
You also might try Best Buy or Radio Shack, but you might not have much luck with them.

Not all units were fitted with the DTV tuner before the switch over occurred. you set should have an insignia that sates that it is DTV ready. if this insignia is not on the box or actual set, you will need a converter box to receive this DTV signal.

check that you are getting signal from the dvd player by using another tv, if it works the dvd player is fine(which u have determined anyway) also check the input on tv to ensure that the input ccty (circuitry) is working as well. if the dvd player is working and tv signal is being picked up, check all the plugs and cords. Good luck.
