Dirty filters are the most main or common cause of furnace problems. Dust and dirt restrict the airflow and if the filter gets too much clogged, the heat exchanger will overheat and turn off too fast or quickly, and your house is not warming up. If the blower is running but no heat is coming out, replace the filters.

make three attempts to get heater running. most electronic ignition heaters will lock out after 3-4 times. after it locks out error codes should present themselves.....such as ignition failure, prs, etc.
ensure proper gas and water pressure. check voltage supplied to your raypack's igniter aswell. if heater fires up then instantly shuts off, then it may be the flame sensor

Not enough heat

Take an Amp draw on all heaters and compare. If within 5%, they are working fine but you may have more open area downstairs than up.

THE LIGHTS COME ON BUT NO HEAT COMES OUT

A wire has probably burnt off the heater element. Also check to make sure that the air inlet is clean. If the unit becomes dirty it will not work and goes off on limit.

Heater comes on but quickly over heats.

There is no Filter On this Model. Check to make sure there is Dirt in the Flow way of the two towers. if that is not it the back up fuse in the heater is going bad.

Not enought heat

I have the same heater and it works great in my bedroom (with a door). the room is about 12 x 14. For my living room and dining area I use 2 or 3 oscillating, ceramic, fan forced heaters spaced out.

As you say, logically...since heat rises, the heat comes off the top. Only 3 things that I can think of would make that heater not work: First, a factory defect (it doesn't heat period). Second, if you have it a room that is too large for that size heater. Third, if the room has no doors (such as a living room).

If you have a draft it can work to your advantage. By placing the heater in line with the draft it will actually accelerate the heat exchange process and distribute the heat faster for you.
