I've been having the same problem where even hard wiring to the router won't work. I called USR and they had me reset to factory defaults. Now three days later, the same behavior is happening. I reset to factory defaults and it works again but I don't know for how long. Maybe these things just wear out after a while...who know.

WITH YOUR WIFI CARD IN GO TO
START ,SETTINGS,CONNECTIONS,THEN TAP ON THE WIRELESS ETHERNET.
YOU SHOULD SEE YOUR NETWORK NAME THERE.
HOLD YOUR STYLUS ON IT FOR 203 SECONDS TO GET THE
CONNECT/REMVE SCEEN.
THEN TAP ON CONNECT.

: if its VISTA or XP, please remove the network profile in your laptop ...
then search again for the network ... by the way what router are you using ? if its linksys please update this thread so that i can assist you if there is a need to reconfigure.

I posted that I was having the same problem. At this point I'm not sure that it was in fact the same problem but my issue was solved by removing and then re-seating the internal wireless card. It looked pretty secure with two screw holding it down but, that seems to have been the problem with mine.
Select the "Internet Connection Settings" tab and select "Yes" when the system displays a new screen saying you will be disconnected from the Internet.
