WASHER WILL NOT RINSE:
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle, the most likely cause is the water valve. What happens is thewater valvewill stop letting cold water into the washer; therefore, once the washer gets to rinse it will either stop or not do anything during the whole rinse cycle.
This is because when you selected your water temperature, youmay haveselected warm/cold or hot/cold. The hot water came in and you didn't notice any problems. When it got to rinse, the cold water the cold water won't come in. Therefore, the washer does nothing.
Theitem to check would be your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going tourwater inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board. You can also do a live volt test to see if it is getting the full 120 current, but be sure to unplug unit before testing as this is a live test.
Another test u can do to check thewaterinletvalve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed.
.
If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you had good water pressure the first time you performed the test, the water valve is bad and needs replacing.

TIMER
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle the timer may be the problem. Sometimes the timer gets stuck in the middle of the cycle or won't turn at all. If the washer runs, but the timer doesn't turn, the timer is bad and needs replacing.
Do you have anti-flood hoses leading to the machine. If you do there is probably a loose tube in the back causing a small leak. When the hoses detect that water is still flowing after a certain amount of time due to the leak it shuts down and causes the machine to turn off during the rinse/spin cycle
By the way my advice is freecuzGod is good!

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.

Possibly rinsing with cold water, washing with hot.
Check inlet valves for leaks, especially cold (rinse)
Lift the top panel by inserting a flat blade approx 4" from each side at the front to release clips, then top will hinge backwards.
You can see the valves at the rear behind the drum..
You can run the machine with top lifted to see any more leaks.
Also remove front panel via 2 small screws to gain better view.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Washer - Imperial Series Quiet Wash 2

your washers drain hose is too far down the drain pipe which is causing a siphoning action pull the washers drain hose out pipe some you should be able to hear water dropping into the pipe the reason it only happens in the rinse cycle is because the water from wash is being drained and before the water vacuum is broken the rinse water comes in causing it to keep draining

SOURCE: Kenmore washer overflows during rinse cycle.

SOME OF THESE MACHINES HAVE TWO PRESSURE SWITCHES IN THEM, ONE FOR THE MAIN WASH WATER LEVEL AND ONE FOR THE RINSE WATER LEVEL. CHECK FOR A PLUGGED AIR PRESSURE HOSE FIRST AND THEN CHECK THE PRESSURE SWITCHES.

Admiral washing machine will not fill up with water on any wash cycle. However it will fill up on any rinse cycle. What could be the problem?

Hi,

please power cycle your washer (ie restart via power outlet unplug and re-plug). After this, please rotate the dial 90 degrees counter-clockwise before attempting another wash . All of these actions to help reset/undo any issues with the washer. Otherwise, you might need to schedule a home diagnosis/repair.

Thank you.

My admiral washer does not work on wash cycle. It will rinse and spin on any cycle but wash

hi Marilyn.
this is what i have found but not sure if this will help you out,if not go to the link at the bottom and see if it helps you out.

Step 1

Make sure the washer's cord is plugged in to a functioning outlet if the Admiral washer won't fill with water. Check your circuit breaker to make sure the power is on and reset it if necessary. Reset the dial and start the washer again. Turn both of the washer's faucets on to full power. Untangle any inlet hoses to remove clogs. If this doesn't work, your hose filter screens could be clogged. Disconnect the hoses from the washer and clean the screens of any residue.

Step 2

Close the washer's lid completely if the Admiral washer will not agitate. The washer will not start if the lid is open. Restart the washer by setting the control dial to the desired cycle. Momentary pauses during cycles can be expected. You may need to wait a minute or two to see if the washer starts. Check the circuit breaker to make sure the washer is getting power. Reset the circuit breaker if necessary.

Step 3

Check and reset the circuit breaker as above if the Admiral washer will not spin or drain. Untangle any of the washer's hoses to allow water into the machine. Check your drains for clogs that may be preventing water to move into the washing machine. Close the lid and restart the washer. The washer will not start if the lid is not completely closed. If there are excessive soap bubbles in the washer, the washer may have locked up because of this. Wash the load again without adding detergent.

Step 4

Rearrange the laundry so it is evenly distributed if the Admiral washer stops or if laundry is still wet at the end of a cycle. Untangle any laundry from the center post in the wash tub. Select the correct water level for the amount of laundry. Select a normal spin cycle for jeans, towels or other heavy loads. Close the lid and start the washer.

Step 5

Check the hoses to make sure they are tightly connected to the Admiral washer if it leaks water. If they are loose, tighten them with a screwdriver. Make sure the drain hose is secured to the drainage area. Avoid putting too much laundry in your machine or soaking laundry for over 30 minutes.

Step 6

Make sure the Admiral washer is on a level plane if it is excessively noisy. If it is not on even ground, move the washer so that it is level. Remember that some washer noise is normal. Thin floors can cause the washer to vibrate and move about and the noise level may rise and fall depending on the speed of the cycle.

Filled up with water on rinse cycle but wont work

Possible fault in the control panel , could be that the sequential switching to the next cycle is not outputted due to a failed device - a relay.
Remove the panel and check for dry soldering or parts that are burnt in your observation. Also check the voltage in the spin cycle and if this is absent the panel is a suspect as the processor does not advance from the memory set.

Does washer drain before the spin cycle starts?

Normally yes. There are around 12 to 20 gallons of water in the tub after the wash cycle, which will be anywhere from 63 to 110 pounds of weight in addition to the weight of the clothes. For the machine to start the spin cycle to remove this water would place a heavy load on the motor, gearcase, pullys, belts, gears, ect. With the water drained, the load is lighter, and much easier to start spinning the excess water out of the clothes. The normal cycles are: Fill, Agitate, Drain, Spin, Rinse Fill, Agitate for rinse, Drain, Spin Cycle and off. Imagine trying to spin a 5 gallon bucket of water over your head, full of water, and then empty. Which one do you think would be easier to do? And safer for you.

Nothing happens

Remove the fill hoses from the back of the washer and check the inlet valve screens/filters for build up or blockage . If that doesn't work you may need to replace the inlet valve.
