To change font and pitch, you need to buy a different printwheel. machines came with a prestige elite 12 printwheel. Prestige elite has small letters and 12 puts 12 charactors per inch. Letter gothic is larger size letters. Google search for ibm wheelwriter printwheel, also called a daisy wheel.

I need to know how to underscore something.

Which program are you using to create the text or document? Microsoft Word?

If you are using microsoft word, wordpad, notepad, microsoft works, etc. if you look at the top of the window usually you will see the letters B, I, U which stand for Bold, Italicize or Underline. You can highlight text that you've already created then select the U to underline the highlited text. Or you can click the U and it will underline everything you type until you click it again.

Hello there i have a problem that after compressing data on c drive ..every letter is being underline and i hate that ..please suggest a solution to remove underline under each heading .. kind regards...

Hi anishmandal, There is no way to remove the underline if you compress your C: drive - it's a feature built right into Windows that can't be changed. Sorry. May I ask why you've compressed your drive? If it's too save space, you may want to think about deleting some things and uncompressing your hard drive. By compressing your hard drive, you've slowed down your computer. Every file your computer needs to access now needs to be expanded. That way the underline disappears as well. Just my two cents. How do I amend the underlining of my text when writing a message?

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. The underlining of text when writing happens when the Predictive Text option is Enabled. When in text mode you can use the Hash Key (#) under number 9 Key to change the case of letters or prediction.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Keeps underlining in red when using ms word

One thing you probably will have noticed is the spelling mistakes in the letter. You should have typed the letter exactly as it was, and left any spelling errors in. More than likely, the spelling mistakes are underlined in red in your document. Anything with a wiggly green line under it is a grammatical error, (or what Microsoft Word insists is a grammatical error). You can turn these off and on if you like. To Turn the wiggly red and green lines on and off, do the following.

Hi,
Somehow the left ALT key is stuck in a pressed position. Usually when you press left ALT and the letter underlined in a menu, it deploys that menu. In the File menu, the F is underlined and in the View menu it is the V that is underlined, hence the behavior.

Hope it helps.
