Question about Hardware & Accessories

Our utilitech pro model 6290 standing light will not light up. see below

The light would only work if the light arms where in a specific position, and as soon as you would move it the light would go off. Is there anyway to "troubleshoot" this without buying a whole new light?

Owner's manual troubleshooting? Otherwise my wild guess: Change the arms without power, tighten and retry plugin.

SOURCE: The arm of my belt tensioner seems to be missing a part.

Is the belt loose? It sounds like you're missing the pulley. Pulleys are usually available from Autozone or Napa (usually one bolt through the center to secure it to the arm).

SOURCE: Where is the cam shaft position sensor located?

It's not that hard to replaced, and can be done with common tools.  3.4 camshaft sensor removal:
Remove the serpentine belt, Disconnect the sensor wire harness, Remove the power steering pump (just remove it from the mount and out of the way), Remove the attachment bolt to the sensor, Remove the sensor, (note spray around the sensor with brake parts cleaner before removal to keep dirt from entering the engine)
To install: Lubricate the new O ring with engine oil before installing the new camshaft sensor, Tighten the retaining bolt to 8 ft.lbs.  connect the sensor's electrical wire, reinstall the power steering pump, reinstall the serpentine belt.
Start the car and go out for the night with the money you just saved, You can pick up the camshaft sensor at Auto Zone and they can also give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done. Good luck and hope this helps. Take's just under 1 1/2 hour to do. You can do it in under 1 hour though if your good with tools.

SOURCE: I bought a 2004 Lancer

i bought a used 2004 mitsubishi lancer ls sportback with the same problem. a google search told me this was a known defect and was covered under a dealer recall--no cost to me. my local dealer did the job. it took at least a half day--the entire dash, they said, had to be removed. the fix isn't perfect, but it is light years above and beyond what it was b4. the new knobs aren't silky smooth, but the old ones needed tools to turn!

Utilitech Pro, model 0595683. Can I use a dimmer with this LED fixture?

It appears, no you can't use a dimmer on these lights. You can try a CFL / LED rated dimmer, but it still may not work

I HAVE A UTILITECH PRO 180 #0205881 AND IT BLINKS WHEN ITS ON

Usually when a motion sensor light blinks LED or otherwise it means that the motion sensor is shot. The light itself is most likely good and for whatever reason you got a bad sensor upon purchase.

My Utilitech Pro will come on, after a few seconds it will blink twice and then will not come on again for several days.

Sounds like the sensor has failed. The controls are supposed to be on the underside, and kept dry.

I lost my instructions for my Utilitech #0357930 timer. I cannot get it to work; I can set it to start but not stop. Just need some directions. Buttons on it are On, Off, Day, Hour, Min, Enter, Pro

The AutoChron 81000 Programmable Wall Light Switch Timer is identical to the Utilitec #0357930 (AmerTac) TMDW50L. Here are links to manuals for models prior to and as of 2012.

Derbi senda fuel gauge not working

Hi, Anonymous you could have a faulty sending unit or gauge, there could be a problem with your wiring. On models with the fuel gauge posing as a left-hand fuel cap the gauge is a press fit do not try to unscrew it, simply ample force lift up in a rocking motion to remove gauge. Disconnect wires to the gauge and with a set of positive and negative jumpers from the battery connect the positive jumper and flash the negative, gauge should peg full, if not replace the gauge. With a test light check for power to the sending unit, then remove the sending unit and manually operate the float arm slowly with the correct wiring hooked up to the fuel gauge and sending unit and the ignition on, the gauge should respond accordingly if not replace the float arm assembly. If your fuel gauge registers the incorrect amount of fuel in the tank you can try bending the float arm the necessary amount for a more accurate reading. Dishwasher-bottom arm not spraying

The spray arms can usually be removed by unscrewing (clockwise or counter clockwise depending on brand and model), or squeezing a retainer to release the arm. Before removing the spray arm, place the spray arms (all) in a specific position and activate the dishwasher for a few seconds with wash action. Then examine the position of the spray arms to determine if there was movement from the spray arms. If not, then the spray arm(s) are probably clogged and restricting water flow (which makes them turn). Make certain that you are positioning the plates, glasses, etc. in the dishwasher so that they have access to the water. If still no luck, contact an appliance service company.
