The light flashing usually means there is a short somewhere. Check your wires to make sure there are no slices and are touching. Also check to make sure you have your remote wire hooked up.

My mtx thunder 421d I just got has the red light staying on all the time, I have hooked up a rca converter and the amp wont play my sub, is that light supposed to be red all the time.

The LED should be red. If you are not getting power to the sub, make sure the speakers are connected properly to the amp. Also make sure that the gain control is turned up. If it is all the way down, you will not hear anything from the sub(s). If none of that works, it is possible that you have a blown sub. If you smell a burnt smell near the speaker magnet, there is damage to the voice coil in the sub.

THE AMP TURNS ON BUT THE FUSE UNDER THE HOOD KEEPS BLOWING and the sub wont turn on but the amp turns on

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty . Please use volt meter to test correct voltage and ohm feas ng on speakers. .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. amp-turns-but-zb4bomd1rt4qms0dqd12kkt2-3-0.jpg

My mtx 1000xd will turn on but makes a sound inside near the circle donut looking with(lots of wires soldered) and where my ground is to the trunk bolt and even in side speakers. It will not power my...

sounds like you may have a bad torroid (the donut looking thing). you may also have a bad ground connection. make sure you have completely bare metal where the ground connection is. you need a very clean connection.

Just hooked up mtx 500d mono amp and 12 inch sub worked for a 1/2 hour then sub quite and led on top of amp just flashes.

Your amp went in to power protect. You must adjust the settings on amp. This is usually very time consuming to get it right. Good Luck

Subwoofers won't work and they are brand new

Hello,

I've got a pair of these MTX's subs powered from a Fusion 450 watt 2-channel amp. For the price, they are great. By the way, they are 4-ohm.

My first suspicion would be that something in the first incorrect wiring damaged either the amp or the subs. Can you explain specifically what the "installing the subs incorrectly" means? Was the amp output shorted out at any time or was it operated without a load? Either of these conditions will fry an amp and sometimes, the protection circuitry doesn't work either.

First make sure that your amp is still working. Check both the primary power fuse, usually located near the vehicle battery, and the fuses on both sides of the amp. Make sure that when you turn the system on, the power light comes on steady (blinking is protection mode). Test your subs one at a time on a speaker output.
