I have a 02 Chevy trailblazer. When I drive the battery drains the alternator does not seem to be charging it. I have replaced the alternator and battery 2 times now to rule out defective parts. I also tightened down all 4 points on the ground wire. Pulled the plugs on the pcm all pins look clean and straight. Wire dont seem broken. Changed the alternator power and grounds seem fin there as well. I'm stuck any thoughts.

There should be a split from the cable coming from battery (-) one end goes to the chassis and another one to the block.

My suggestion is to take it to an AutoZone store and have them check the starting/charging systems. Some batteries seem good until you crank the motor and the Amps. are not enough. This is a free service for their customers..

Ground points are in different locations throughout wiring harness. If you had any work done to engine it is very possible to have missed one of the grounding eyelets during the process of putting things together. Check along wiring harness in any area you can see or reach to try to locate any loose or disconnected ground looks.

SOURCE: I think PCM is broken. I measured that 3 and 6 cylinders pin(2) are connecting to ground pin(10). When I cut that wire (3 and 6 cyl.) which goes from PCM to coil engine will start with 4 cylinders but

The chances of the PCM being defective or slim to nearly none.
