IR compressor ML55 tripped while running and displays a fault "CHECK MOTOR RUNNING"

If you're running it on an extension chord they tend to do that, especially if they're really cold or really hot. If that's not it you could try changing the oil, or just check to make sure that's full. Keep in mind really cold oil will work just like it does in your car. Try that and see if it helps.

I also have a Clarke SHHH 2/9 with the same problem. I sent it off to machine mart service dept. in Nottingham who quoted £189 to replace a faulty pump. Am not going ahead with repair since replacement cost is only £250. Cost sending to Nottingham (from local machine mart) & cost of estimate & cost of return (to local machine mart) was £24 which I thought was reasonable. Very unimpressed with compressor itself wich failed after only light use.
