SOURCE: base of faucet leaks- cannot remove set screw at

if you are having trouble removing the set screw make sure you are using the correct size allen wrench and confirm that it is a allen screw and not a trox screw. After doing this try tighten the screw slightly before loosening it. This should break it loose.

SOURCE: I have a single handle

Using the number you gave it is an American Standard faucet here is a link to a parts place.
I would use the factory parts.

SOURCE: This is American standard clear tap kitchen faucet. How to stop leak? I have already changed cartridge. Still leaking.

That's one heck of a leak! Generally, replacing the cartridge should solve problems like this - but you said you've already done this so it suggests to me that there is an issue with the faucet body that the cartridge sits in - or that the cartridge was not properly installed.

If your water is hard and untreated, deposits can form and may also eat away at the metal. I suggest removing the cartridge and even the faucet (if needed) to carefully inspect and thoroughly clean the area that holds the cartridge. Soak the faucet in white vinegar as long as needed to dissolve minerals / hard water deposits. Scrub with an old tooth brush as needed.

Check the directions for installation of your cartridge once more. If unable to locate - chek online. Sometimes these are larger than those included with the cartridge. Attempt to reinstall. Contact the faucet manufacturer's customer help line if unsure about installation or if the leak persists after reinstallation.

I have a Moen kitchen faucet with a leak.

By "leak in the stem" I assume you mean you're getting water in the cabinet below the faucet. High likelihood is it's the hose - either loose where it connects to the faucet or the sprayer. You can pull it out and check to be sure it's tight at the sprayer. To check the faucet end, you'll need to be under the cabinet with a light. If you don't find one of those connections loose, it's likely one or the other is leaking, due to a hose defect or washer (or missing washer).
The only way to see that is to turn the faucet on full (cold) with the sprayer pulled out and look for a leak in the hose behind the sprayer. If not there, leave the water running (may need another person to hold the sprayer) and inspect under the cabinet with your light for a leak either in the hose or at the connection to the faucet. If the problem is the hose or one of the nuts, it's an easy deal to buy a replacement hose - Home Depot stocks Moen.

I just replaced the cartridge, spacer, check valves and oring that sits on top of manifold and water still leaks within body of faucet. any suggestions?

SOUNDS LIKE A LOOSE FITTING , INSPECT UNDER THE TAPS FOR ANY LOOSE FITTINGS AND TIGHTING THEM UP WITH A AJUSTABLE SPANNER UNTILL WATER STOPS LEAKING.

Kitchen spout leaks

Hi buffy9,

I'm Harvet the Master Plumber.

Your question is: You have an American Standard two faucet in my kitchen and the base of the spout leaks at the base. How do you remove it and replace the washers?

Are we talking about an American Standard two HANDLE faucet or one of the single handle models?

Thank you,
Harvey your Master Plumber
