Do you have to reset an error code for the generator to run properly? I got a 36 code and did a complete tuneup but still getting surging and it dies after 5 to 10 minutes. Good gas flow to the carb.

SOURCE: 2 1/2 Briggs......doesn't run smoothly....surges at all speeds.

Hi, Check that you have the correct spark plug fitted or fit a new one as it sounds like your plug is getting hot then shorting out.
Sometimes the magnito can do this as well. but I would start with the plug.

SOURCE: Craftsman GT5000 W/22hp B+S surges and dies when warm

Replace the spark-plug, check the quality of the fuel(gas that is mixed or was stored more then three months is stale and wont fire correctly) make sure the fuel and air filter not clogged. If there is no change then your problem may be more technical, a nest may be restricting the govenor or you missed something with the carb and there still is debre causing it to stall.

Check the vent in the fuel cap to make sure its free to breath. It could be creating a vaccume in there and starveing for fuel. Maybe run it with the gas cap off and see if the problem gos away.

SOURCE: Honda 5.5 HP starts & dies

had the same problem with my Honda engined mower. you can't see it easily, but there is a very fine screen in the outlet of the fuel tank that gets blocked and fuel will not pass thru it fast enough to refill carb. remove tank and pour fuel in another container . Use a flexible plastic tube in the outlet or make a small wire hook to penetrate the screen,or preferably, remove it. confirm that fuel flows freely thru it, remove any debris, and reassemble. Change spark plug, add fresh fuel, and test. best of luck!!!! Ray

Dryer will not turn on. Lights blink and the Code "F-01" shows in the display

depending on your model The F-01 error code indicates a primary control board failure . If the error cleared after unplugging it for a while, then the control board could have received a power surge or glitch through the electrical lines. Completely disconnecting the electrical power and then reconnecting it will sometimes reset the board and it will operate properly. If your dryer continues to operate properly, then resetting the control board may have fixed your problem.

If the dryer motor continues to stop, then you may have a bad control board. A wiring problem or drive motor failure could also prevent the dryer from continuing to run properly. A technician is normally needed to diagnose and repair this type of problem.

If the F-01 returns and will not clear, then you will need to replace the control board in the dryer

Surge Guard 50amp - no shore power

Do you have good power that the outlet. I have seen many issues at RV parks of not having sustained power or one leg of the breaker going bad causing loss of power. If you do have good power coming into the surge protector but not out. Then go through the reset procedures for the surge protector. If it will not reset, then the surge protector has failed and will need to be replaced. If power is coming through then check the main breakers in the coach for possible failure. Breakers can trip but still look as if they are properly set. Turn them completely off then back on to reset.

After starting it it dies seconds later like it's out of gas

Check the oil viscosity and level, and also make sure the low oil pressure switch isn't the culprit

Coleman 5000 watt generator Tecumseh 10 hp engine. Surging r.p.m. Carburetor has been gone through 2 times, and still not correct. Any information will help!!!

it's running lean.....try resetting the choke partially when it begins to surge.....not completely closed, but enough to richen the fuel mixture (that's all a choke does btw..)
if that helps or clears the problem, your carb is outta whack.....cheaper to buy a new carb than keep taking back into the shop.
