try this. it worked for me. found it on amazon.com:

16 of 16 people found the following review helpful: stars-3-0._v47082372_.gif Not bad, once you figure it out, December 4, 2007 By zorra007 (Las Vegas, NV USA) - See all my reviewsI decided to review this because I had a hard time figuring out how to use this, and I basically pieced it together based on other reviews. Consider this a "how to" for those PC owners who are frustrated and don't want to take it back:

1) Go to mscustomercare.com, click on "Innovage Digital Photo Keychain," then download the "Photo Viewer Install." Try to save the .zip file to your desktop for easy finding/access.

2) Once it is downloaded, open the .zip file, click on "photo viewer" folder, then click "setup." Let the program run. It will put an icon on your desktop called "Photoviewer." Don't bother clicking on that right now.

3) Plug in the USB cord, then plug in the device. A blue screen will pop up on the device. (If it doesn't, then click the power button first). Choose the "USB Charge" option. Allow the device to charge for at least an hour. [The booklet says to let it charge up to 7 hours first, but I found that this isn't necessary].

4) After an hour (or longer), click the power button on the device. Another blue screen will pop up, along with some options. At this point, you can program the date and time.

5) Next, unplug the USB from the device, then from the computer. Then re-plug in the USB cord into your computer, and then into the device. Then turn on the device. Choose the "USB Update" option. At this point, your computer should automatically detect the device as storage hardware, and will automatically configure itself. (I have Windows XP, btw.)

6) After the computer finishes configuring itself, you will be able to open the Photoviewer program. (As you probably know, most people say that trying to open the program before doing this will result in a "no program detected, will terminate" or similar message.) Anyway, if all goes well--which it should--the program will open and you can then upload your pictures onto the device. It's really quite easy and self-explanatory.

7) A good rule of thumb is to save all of your pictures in a folder, in the order you want them to be on the device. Perhaps even better would be to resize or photoshop them before hand for maximum viewing quality. For example, the pictures I have that are close-up headshots look really great and fit nicely/clearly, while the ones I have of lots of people are not so clear. In fact, you can barely see some people's faces.

8) Once you are done cropping and adding your pictures, hit "synchronize" and it will put them on the device. Once it finishes, it will tell you. Just close the program then, and safely remove the hardware from your computer (click on the icon on your computer tray). Once you safely remove it, I prefer to just plug it in again, and choose "USB Charge," until the battery is fully charged and the light is green.

So, with some planning and patience, this device can work out pretty well. It took some time to figure this out, but I am happy to pass it on, as knowing this would have saved me some serious time. I am quite happy with it, and will be sending it to my cousin who is serving in the Marines in Iraq. :)

I was given one of these for a birthday gift. Piece of junk!!! My solution for this problem: throw the darn thing away and buy ANOTHER brand. I bought a different brand for my daughter. She's not even computer literate and she had NO PROBLEMS what so ever with hers!

SOURCE: Innovage digital photo keychain not turning on

Hi everyone - I guess I am an official member of this club. I got this as a gift for Christmas and during all of the chaos of the holidays, it got stuck in the bottom of a bag. I know it is now MAY and I am now just finding it. I have installed the software and loaded the pictures, but am having the same problem. It won't turn on if it is not attached to a USB cable. Is there any answer to get this fixed? I really like it and want to show it off, but can't.

Hi guys,
I just received one as well, and was faced with the same problem (software verion - 2.4 - provided with device didn't work) and found the proper way to make those work on some blog site. You will need the version 2.5. Here is where you can get it. it works fine:
1) Go to mscustomercare.com, click on "Innovage Digital Photo Keychain," then download the "Photo Viewer Install." Try to save the .zip file to your desktop for easy finding/access.
2) Once it is downloaded, open the .zip file, click on...

Photo keychain

If this is like my keychain photo viewer you need to put the keychain in USB update mode before it will work.  When you first plug it in to the USB port it will show USB Charge or USB Update. Use the arrow keys to put it in USB Update mode and then press the menu power button.
At this point you can open the software and start adding photos!

Innovage photoviewer keychain download

I was a little frustrated reading the above...being a PC user....

first, you must 'charge' the unit for 3 hours.

IT IS an easy fix...uninstall the Picture Viewer that you got from the Disc they gave...Throw it away. Go to www.mscustomercare.com at the top of the keychain section, it says "download".............. THIS version works.

Innovage photo keychain software problem

For the Innovage photo keychain software download,go to http://www.mscustomercare.com Download the software from there. You will get a .zip file. When you "unzip" it, a folder appears on your desktop. Inside that folder is a "package" icon. Double click that and now you have Picture Viewer on your desk top.
However, I am a Mac user, too, just bought this keychain yesterday, chose my photos, got them in the Picture Viewer, but I can't see them on the keychain.!!! I am going to call their tech support. What a bummer1

Innovage Digital Photo Album w Keychain driver

Summary of Solutions posted here and elsewhere:

I just received a Innovage Digital Photo Album Keychain as a gift and ran into some of the issues posted here. I am going to summarize the solutions I have come across in hopes they will help others.

Installing/obtaining the software:

The keychain requires you to use custom software to upload pictures. The keychain includes a mini-cd with the software. If you have a computer with a slot loading cd (i.e. laptop, imac, mac-mini, etc) do not try to put the CD into your computer, it may become stuck! Either call the service line and order a full size cd, or try downloading the software from either:
Coby DP-151 software
Digital Foci - Pocket Album software
(While these are different digital photo products, the transfer software appears to be same as the Innovate software)

The software should be installed before you plug in the keychain into your USB port.

Software Issues:

Some users have complained that they can't see the whole transfer window. You might have your screen resolution set too low (like 680x480 or 800x600) try increasing to 1024x768 or bigger.

Finding photos: The software is quite simple, it does not integrate with your photo software (e.g. iphoto) it simple reads image files. You will need to point the software to where your photos are stored on your computer. For most people this is either "My Pictures" or simply "Pictures" folder.

Transferring photos: There have been some recommendations to transfer the photos to the keychain in small batches (like 6-10) rather than queuing up 60 images to transfer all at once. Apparently the software has crashed on some peoples machines when transferring many images.

Device Issues:

Charging: The device has an internal battery, it must be charged via your computers USB port. In must be in the charge mode, it will not charge when it is in the update mode. When you first plug the device into your USB port a menu should come up on the screen. You can use the arrow buttons to change the selection, then press the power key to select your choice. For charging you should select "USB Charge". In this mode the keychain will display images and won't let you power off. The red light will supposedly turn green once the keychain is fully charged.

Transferring images:
The keychain must be in the "USB Update" mode before your software will talk with it. Try unplugging the keychain, plug it back in, wait for the menu, use the arrow keys to select "USB update", press the power button. Now try running your transfer software

Bad USB cables: Many people have reported that the supplied USB cable doesn't work. If you are having problems with charging or transferring images, first try another USB cable from a similar type device if you have one (many cameras have the same sized mini usb connectors)

Hope this helps someone!
