SOURCE: handset not working

Three possible problems - Bad handset, bad handset cord, or bad telephone. Try another handset and cord from a known good phone. If the problem phone still doesn't work the hookswitch spring may be weak. You can remove the screws from the bottom of the phone and take the bottom off. The hookswitch will have a small spring that you can stretch or rebend to put more upward force on the hookswitch to make it positively go off hook. Also the dtu phones have a jack for the handset and a jack for the headset on the bottom - make sure you are using the handset jack.

Hello, I had the same problem with my line I called the phone company 2 times they checked the line on their side at the base and was unable to fix it, they also sent me new filters but that did not help either, they had to physically come out to my house to find out what the problem was. They checked my phone that was new and that was not the problem, they changed the box in my house and still the static and scratchy noise was still there, after 3 days they ended up replacing all the wiring from (outside my house) becuse it was way way old, now my line is clear as a bell. This may be your problem but you may have to sacrifice a few days. Good luck I hope this helps.

Thanks, but the batteries would cost me a lot so I might as well just get new phones....

SOURCE: Callers cannot hear me with one handset

Try them in intercom mode. If the flaky unit still does not work, the something along the microphone circuitry is likely dead. If its in warranty, get a replacement from the store or manufacturer.

How do I forward my phone number on a Dect 6.0 cordless phone model 30524

Do you mean the GE DECT 6.0 30524 corded/cordless phone? For this landline telephone, you can switch a call from one handset to another (or the base) by using the Intercom feature. Press del/int on the handset or Int on the base and choose a handset number (use the CID +/ phonebook -) buttons (if multiple handsets are registered) or select base from the handset. Press Menu/OK to page the other handset or base. Once that device answers the incoming Intercom call, press and hold Del/Int or Int to create a conference call (both handsets or handset and base listening). Press Del/Int or Int to switch from the Intercom call back to the call on hold. Hang up on the first handset if the person on the second handset will continue to speak to the original caller alone. See pages 24-25 of the manual to see the directions. The direct link to the manual is currently .

For any landline phone, to forward a call to another phone number, you need to subscribe to a forwarding option with your telephone company. Check their information for initiating call forwarding.

If you have a different 30524 phone, please add a comment with the manufacturer.

I hope this helps.

I would like a name that is not my name, how can I do that?

Assumed Names at your local County Clerks Office will register an assumed name for $15. The only catch is you have to sign a statement that states you are not avoiding legal issues.

Caller display doesn't work

From the BT website...

"If you are using your phone on a broadband line make sure you fit an ADSL microfilter between the telephone line cord and the telephone socket."
I'm guessing you have one on the landline, probably next to the router but not the handset base :-)

Will not dial out on landline in the tone mode but

There's something wrong with the base unit that connects to the phone line. It's not sending any audio to the phone line, which would explain why tone dialing doesn't work and people can't hear you. (Pulse dialing doesn't need the audio tones so it will still work.)

I've never run across one doing this before. The problem is almost certainly some electronic failure, and I doubt there's anything you can do other than replacing the thing. If this is still under any warranty it should be up to the manufacturer to repair or replace it. If you got this from VoIP service provider, contact their customer service department.
