I have the same dark spot issue on the image of the ScreenPlay 61. Spot is not quite in center, more to the top left. Happened when lamp module was replaced. Put original lamp module in, and still had dark spot.
Its not the large fold mirrors, as the bottom part of the image is aligned with the bottom of the screen. Illumination path (lamp to DMD) must be the issue - need to find out if it is possible to get to tunnel/illumination lenses/fold mirror without taking entire light engine out of box. Doesn't look likely from first glance at housing.
If any of this addressed in service manual, please let me know where I can get a copy of it.
Its an acrylic condensing lens inside the light engine that has melted/warped. You have to pullout the entire light engine then disassemble the optical light tunnel to get too the lens. Then you need a lens-smith to cut a new lens because Infocus won't stand behind this design flaw. Its really a shame on Infocus!

I have the same TV - I have a dark spot in the upper left hand corner. I have always thought this TV was dark. Be sure to get OME lamp. Cheaper ones are not worth it and can damage your TV more. dlplampsource,com--Just a note if this ever happens to you. TV would not come on in the AM-Had no picture, but had sound. It was not the lamp, but the safety switch. It's blue and at the bottom of the lamp housing. As soon as I flipped it and replaced the back cover, the TV came on.
If you still have the owners manual there should be an 800 number or some sort of customer support for it. Unless it's really old that is your best bet for the internal pieces
Remove the little plastic lens and throw it away. There is no replacement available anyway. Reassemble the tv and it should work fine. Mine has been good for quite a while now.
if the spot is circular, check the lamp itself. if it has a flatter edge, chances are your light tunnel has collapsed and needs replaceing. it's not that old, so dell might repair it. but they might replace the entire optical engine, as they may not sell individual parts.
If by saying the upper right corner of the lens you really mean that there is a dark spot on each image AND the rear display, there may be dirt or dust on the lens itself. Clean the lens with an optical quality cleaner. Do not use paper towels and Windex or the like - as paper towels can scratch the lens.
It is also possible that the dark spot is a "stuck pixel" on the image sensor inside the camera. There is no way to repair a stuck pixel outside of replacing the sensor. Any dark spot (regardless of source) can be edited out by using image editing software. This will allow you to to make the dark spot less noticeable - or practically invisible.
If the dark spot is on the rear display only, it can also be a result of a "stuck pixel" on the display itself. This should not show up an images, but only on the display. There is little that can be done outside of replacing the entire rear screen.
There are other things that can cause these problems, but those listed above are the most common.
dark spot could be a faulty led. if you put a program on that is in white screen you should see all the leds light up the screen. dark spot will be were the led is not working. if on white screen and they all lite up but still dark around the area, it could be the lcd screen. and could be dying pixels. and try this video https://youtu.be/wlA2rcrAOCs
Maybe an electronic device is around that corner of your tv? some have magnets that make screens do that. i know it happens with computer monitors and such but not sure for tv's
learning to use light metering correctly can have its challenge. the manual will guide you on how to set up to read light from the subject. spot metering a dark area will cause general overexposure, or a washed out look. spot metering a bright area will cause a dark image. if you are on spot meter and shoot two people standing together against a bright lit background, your meter will see between them if they are centered, and read all that bright background, setting the camera to a less sensitive combination of aperture / shutter speed, resulting in a dark image. use field averaging meter setting and be sure you are metering the subject and not the background. try shooting a wall that is fairly clear of other colors and uniform it light hitting it, you should have a correctly exposed image. since it works in other modes (at least 1, anyway) then it is unlikely you have an exposure compensation issue. that is the only other non defect issue that would cause your problem. once you confirm that you have these settings correct and still get a dark image, its time to have it serviced. good luck mark
