Removed the 12v ATX cable; cooling fans still not spinning...

12v processor input is plugged into the power supply. I simply removed the old PS, and installed a new one. No dice.

Unplug the four-pin 12V ATX cable from the motherboard, and see if that makes it power up any better - it probably still won't work entirely, but see if it gets your cooling fans spinning. If so, you probably have a bad motherboard, with something shorting out the 12V power.

Just a post to verify the popular claims that bad capacitors in the power supply cause it to fail and also kill the motherboard. I found "NEW" motherboard and power supply for $30 each; and what else is there to say. Listen up: Intel augsburg motherboard, and the Athena 400watt power supply, both for 70 bucks. Amen... PV.

Is the 12V processor input plugged into the power supply¿ I will assume that you only removed the PS and it's connections and reinstalled it without removing any other connections. There may be more connections than I may have anticipated.

I assume you are using a new power supply.
Now unfasten everything from the motherboard (except video) and try to power it up. That is, disconnect the hard drive, CD, and any add-in cards. If it still doesn't power up, I would try to swap out memory. If you still have no luck, you will probably need to replace the motherboard.

I have a Gateway 507gr pc. Pushing the power supply button the fans turn the cpu light turn on and the pc does nothing else.

you'll need a good power source.replace the old one ; remove all conection from hdd ,dvd's etc..make sure you have a speaker on MB.remove all the ram you have and power on the pc ;you must here a long beep folowed by 2 short one's;if you don't hear it your MB or CPU are gone. But if you do hear then put back the ram and remove your video card and power up the pc again , you must hear a long beep folow by 3 short one ; if you don't hear your MB or CPU are gone but if you hear that means the power supply was the problem.

Gateway 507gr wont power on but looks like ps unit is good

Make sure you are plugging in your P.S. to Motherboard properly. This can happen if you are off by one pin on a 20 pin Supply on a 24 pin Motherboard. If you never opened the case and it just started happening, maybe one of your cards came out of its slot or your CPU Fan is not running.

Gateway 507GR Wont Power-On after a power surge.  Had slight hissing noise in the Bestec power supply, replaced it, and it still will not always power-on. If I switch the a/c power on/off really fast...

Sounds to me the like soft on/off power switching in power supply itself is not working. Try another supply or if u have a tester try that. Wont be the motherboard or nothing at all would be happening.
Hope this helps

My Gateway 507GR PC desktop will not connect to internet

Turn off (unplug if necessary) your modem, router, and PC. Then power on the modem, wait a minute and then power on the router, then power on your PC, this should solve your issue if you have service.

No power on my pc when i turn it on just a green flashing light at the back

your power supply may have died. take note of your pc make/model and power supply specs. (there should be a sticker on it) the power supply is where the power cord plugs in on the back of the pc. they are fairly inexpensive and easy to remove/replace.

Video card for the gateway 507gr

Yes, your computer specifically supports:

PCI Express 16x and
PCI Express 1x

The 16x is the long one and the 1x is the reallly short one. Most likely the card that you get will fit the big slot. Be careful not to upgrade too high though, because if you do you may have to upgrade your power supply as well. Ask someone at gateway or a local shop for a recommended card for your system.
