When i turn the laptop on it shows a lock and it said to pit in your code but i for got it

I have dealt with IBM with this issue a few times in the past. Your best bet would be to put on a new Operating system... WinXP, Vista or the new Win7. The reason being IBM will not assist you in this is because the lap top may be stolen and its a security issue. If you are the actual owner, you would remember the password that you just entered twice to confirm with the lap top. IBM/ Lenova will not work with you on this because anyone who STEALS a lap top calls in to the manufacturer and says ... I lost my code and the manufacturer resets it for you, takes away the use of having a secure lap top so then anyone would just go and steal all day long. Get my drift

here is some simple steps for windows XP's--------password
but do it carefully

1. Step 1 Shut down or restart your computer. While your computer is booting, press the F8 key repeatedly until the "Boot Menu" appears and you can select "Safe Mode." Once you select "Safe Mode," press "Enter."
   
2. Step 2 Click on the "Start" menu and then click "Run."
   
3. Step 3 Type "control userpasswords2" in the dialog box that pops up, and then click "OK."
   
4. Step 4 Click on the account you forgot the password for and select the reset option.
   
5. Step 5 Input a new password into both the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" areas. Select "OK."
