you may need to RESET the handset before getting them registered to the base station. this will ask for a reset code, just consult the user manual to get it.

Unplug the unit again and press the intercom/find handset button while you re-connect the adaptor. Then dock the phone unit once again and it will re-register.

Unplug The Base than take batteries from the phone after 15 seconds power it back on, viola you should have it working

SOURCE: How do i reset philips voip4332b ip phone base unit to company default.

This should solve your problem:

1. On your phone select: Menu > System > Base Select

Select "Auto" and press "ok"

2. On your phone select: Menu > System > Register
(you might be prompted to enter a PIN if so the default is "0000" )

3. On the base station press and hold down the "Page" button for 4-5 secs until the green light starts to blink. At this point the phone should be now able to find the base station.

To un-register the SB67108 handset from a base unit, SB67118 or SB67138, you will need to do these steps in order:
1. Press menu
2. Key in this sequence *883247#
3. Select deregister
4. Unplug the battery for minimum 10 seconds
5. Plug battery back in and it will want to be registered.
6. Follow the directions in your base unit manual to reregister it.
That's it in a nut shell.

Base unit not recognizing any handset

I recommend that you unplug the other unit and then register each phone separetly. While trying to register one phone make sure the other is un plugged.

Hi, I sort of solved this issue. What you cannot confuse here is that when you are doing "Registering" on your existing handset, the base has to be in the registration mode too. To get the base in the registration mode, you have to press <page> (or speaker with sound symbol on the base) more than 5 seconds, then the base is in the "Register Mode". You can then go through the procedure you describe and the handset will beep with Registration number on the screen. This is however a fix only if the Base is still functioning. In my case, sadly, the base was more likely dead (if I press any button on the base, i.e. answer phone etc., there is no response). Hence I went and bought a new cheap GAP compatible BINATONE 1800 Single at Comet (14.99). I then set up the base, put it in the registration mode. Then on the Phillips CD245 handset and gone through the above registration procedure... and Voila! It worked. Now I have a new base that came with 1 handset, then 3 of my CD245 handset are all registered with it. So far, the sound quality is good and I also managed to have kept all the telephone numbers registered with the handset. The BINATONE base came with 12 months manufacturer's guarantee so I am sorted with the base problem for at least a year, which is nice. I hope this is helpful. Best, Ken

Can I use handsets from another DCT 748 unit to expand my DCT 748

Short answer:
No. This model of phone can only support 4 handsets. If you need more than that, you will need to have a second base unit.

Detailed answer:
One of my handsets went bad, and I just bought complete DCT748-4 package from a seller on eBay for a very good price. This set was used, but in very good condition. I didn't need the whole set - just one handset - but like I said, it was a good price. Anyway, I began by telling my old base unit to de-register handset #2 (the failed unit). However, I then found that I could not register the "new" handset with my old base unit because it was already registered to the "new" base unit. So, I first had to apply power to the "new" base unit and de-register the handsets. Then, I placed one of the "new" handsets onto my old base unit, and it said "Handset Registering ..." and registered just fine. Just for the fun of it, I placed one of the other spare handsets into my old base unit. It said "Hanset Registering ..." but then it beeped and said "Registration Failed." This is because I already had 4 handsets registered to my base, and the base can not handle a fifth handset.

Uniden handset TCX905 with base unit TRU8866-if compatible?

I just successfully registered 4 TCX905s with my TRU8865 base - it's documented in the TCX905 manual.

Be sure the handset you want to register is fully charged.

Remove the handset you want to register from its charger.

Now unplug the AC for the main base, hold down the 'find handset' key on the base and plug the AC in again, when it beeps, you can let go of that button.

Hold down the '#' on the handset you want to register, it will show 'Registering Handset...' and when it beeps, it's done - registered, you're good to go :)

were you ever able to register the additional handset? I have the same problem with 4 handsets, one broke and I bought 2 new vt2420 handsets. The unit wont register handset #3 (the one that broke). Would love to know if you were able to resolve the issue?
