I have an S&N 20" bronze metal pendulum clock that no longer works. Number on back is 04/08-22913. Serial #2,055,787, Mfg. #9. Can I purchase a replacement battery compartment for this clock?

Hi

On the 205W the serial no. is on the bottom of the unit, inside an outlined box. Make sure to remove the mounting bracket to be able to view it.

You do not go into the battery compartment.

Give the pendulum a shove and do it every time you pass the clock. I got mine going from swinging for just 20 seconds to working permanently, at least until the next battery change.

The clock must be levelled the same as when it was previously set up. In other words, if you didn't check the level of the clock before disassembly and reassembled it and re-levelled it, it may not operate because it might not be the same.
Some clocks have different weights for the clock, chime, and hour strike. Did you mark them and install them in the same location?
My Seth Thomas has a screw to adjust the swing of the pendulum to allow proper escapement on the gear, but you have to be able to determine which way the pendulum needs to swing more to make that adjustment. I may be able to help you with this!
You may need a clock repair service.

You need to determine what type of movement it is first. Ridgeway used movements from Hermle and other manufacturers. Once you have identified the movement we can sort out the pendulum. Most grandfather/grandmother clocks have an adjustable screw on the weight to slightly extend it or shorten it to satisfy the equation of pendulum swing. the shorter the swing (arc distance) the faster the clock, the longer the swing the longer the time. Check to see if you can adjust the weight up or down on the hanger.

Quartz president wall clock, I need to set the chime

I have a pendulum wall clock from the president collection. If yours is the same or similar, the following may help:
*Look at the back for a slide switch labled "start" at the top and "set" at the bottom and move it to "set"
*Look for for small push buttons. They represent the hours and minutes. Push each in turn, the number of pushes to represent the time, ie, for 09:45, ignore the first(0), push the second 9 times(9)-push the third 4 times(4)- push the 4th 5 times(5). When done, push the slide switch back to "start".
If yours is the same as mine - a wall hung pendulum clock with Westminster chimes, made around 1988. I would be happy to scan and send a copy of the instructions.

Yep - I know a clock repairman in California who still has some of the original Hechinger Quartz Movements for the Alessi pendulum clock . Definately worth repairing .

Changed battery and now pendulum wont swing. Clock doesn't operate at all. All was fine until I changed the battery.

Give the pendulum a shove and do it every time you pass the clock. I got mine going from swinging for just 20 seconds to working permanently, at least until the next battery change.

it almost sounds like the hour hand is pointing 180 degrees off, and if it was removed and flipped things would be good again. does it chime 2x when it's 8:00? and 3 when it's 9? that would confirm to me it needs to be pointed the other direction, then adjust the actual time.
