The reset button is a 15 amp breaker.
One possibility although remote, is that the reset breaker itself is broken. Is the switch loose, or does feel like it makes the expected switch, just the fireplace doesnt come on?

You have tried it in a different AC outlet if the plug is movable?

More likely though, it is something shorting within the electric fireplace, and it is tripping the breaker as a safety measure, as soon as you turn it on. Sometimes you can hear this, if you turn it on and it immediately turns off and trips the breaker.

Either way, this should be looked at by a qualified repair person, as you do not want to mess around with defective electrical circuits in your home.

What is the replacement bulb on a ADL2000m-x?

It looks to be a 40 watt bulb. Take the old one to the store and get one that looks like it with 40 watt rating.

I have a Amish looking electric fireplace, Model FL18-r, which has quit heating altho the fake flames still work. I am trying to see if the heater insert can be replaced, where and for how much, or...

There are a couple of reasons the heating unit part of the fireplace stop heating. A dust and lint build up in the heating coils can cause them to burn out. The heater overload circuitry has shut the heater down or has failed or the unit needs to reset. so lets go to the easiest thing for you to do, yourself.

RESETTING THE HEATER
Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF. Unplug the fireplace and wait 12 - 15 minutes before plugging it back in. Then turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Turn ON each individual function of the fireplace, one at a time. If the unit was able to reset itself, each function should work normally. If it doesn't, then one of the issues I listed above is the problem.

If your fireplace is less than one year old, it should still be under warranty. So contact the manufacturer (you can find the contact info in your Owners Manual) about repair or replacement.

One personal aside: None of the electric fireplace/heaters on the market today, have a long trouble free life span. Usually, it's 9 months to a year, when consumers start having problems. I sold these type of appliances for a couple of years, as an adjunct to our gas fireplace and heater business. When they started to become a problem for our customers, we quickly realized, that no matter who the manufacturer is/was, they are not what they are touted to be and we discontinued selling them. It's been 4 years since we discontinued selling them and apparently, nothing has changed in their manufacture. As, I answer more than my share of questions about them, here on FixYa. As one person told me, "I wish I had bought a vent-free gas fireplace instead. It would have cost me more, but would have been more reliable and would still heat, even if the power was out."

I hope this helps you trouble shoot and solve the problem.

Happy Easter!

If you're under the one year standard Warranty, since you purchased the heater, Heat Sure will replace it for you. If you're out of warranty contact Heat Surge 800-924-7964 and you can purchase the motor from them.

Electric fireplace does not heat

I have a cheap electric fireplace bought in SuperCentre store-heater no longer works. It says its a one piece system. Can these heaters be replaced or repaired(probably made in China) or am i better off scrapping it and buying a new one?
