Ice maker that won't make ice. I poured hot water into ice tray it produced ice and despend it into storge bin, so I think, the ice maker is OK, it's the water not getting into the ice tray. I checked water supply, water is getting to the refrige input value. The tempature setting was set at 8, I lowered to 5 yesterday. Also the outside freezer wall/bottom . That area between the freezer and refrige is hot to the touch. How can I check the water flow system? If I were to change the ice maker unit, would that correct the water problem? or what to you think I should do? Don

I'm sorry, the refrige fixed it's self after I lowered the temp setting. The hot water and/or setting must have melted the blockage. I didn't reallize that my request when in, I didn't fill out the payment section because you don't have paypal. I assumed I didn't complete the proess.

I think you have a bad doul water inlet valve . One coil works the water dispensor , and the other , works the icemaker . If the icemaker dumps the cubes , then the water valve is bad . If it did not dump the cubes , then the icemaker is bad , but , it did dump , so replace the water inlet valve . ( the piece that is on the bottom right of the compressor compartment , or the piece which the icemaker line runs down to , behind the refrig .

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Why does my ge pss26lg side by side despense water but no ice?

Just because you get water from the dispenser does not mean you should also get ice made in the ice maker. Fact is there are two side to the water control valve. One for the ice maker and the other for the water dispenser. Is there ice remaining inside the ice maker slots? If not then pour water into the tray until full and if after the water freezes it drops the ice into the ice bin this will indicate a defective=> WR57X10032 Water Inlet Valve If nothing happens and the ice maker tray are full of ice this will indicate a defective=> WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly The ice maker is cannot be rebuilt on this model. Our GE Adora side by side refrigerator is not making ice . Freezer is cold enough but no ice at all

If you don't use much ice, its likely the fill line into the ice maker has frozen. Access the back of the refrigerator, locate the water line going into the back of the freezer. There is probably a clamp holding the line in place. Remove the screw holding the clamp, and gently pull the hose out of the freezer. Let it sit for about an hour while the ice in the end of the water line thaws. After an hour, insert the water line back into the freezer, install the clamp, and start a cycle - there should be an envelope on the back of the fridge with instructions on how to start a cycle. You should be able to hear the water flow into the tray.

GE TFX24E side by side refrigerator, ice maker won't fill with water.

Hi, I have a GE TFX24E refrigerator. The ice maker is not filling with water. I replaced teh water valve with no joy. If I pour a cup of water into the dispenser the ice maker will freeze and harvest the ice. Any ideas? Is there a replaceable water fill sensor?

Ice maker not making ice

IF ice is in the cub slots and will not drop then the ice maker is at fault. If slots are dry fill with tap water and let freeze and if they drop and the water does not refill the tray then the dual water controil valve part=> WR57X10032 Dual Water Control Valve
Ice maker being electronic best to just get another if that's the problem=> WR30X10093

Our GE Adora Refrigerator's ice maker isn't working properly

Perhaps your freezer isn't set cold enough - or your freezer door seal is not sealing correctly and the ice cubes are melting in the bin and sticking to one another and the spiral screw that delivers the ice.

My GE adora makes very little ice and water stream is weak

Your problem may be as simple as the water shut off valve behind the refrigerator not being opened fully. Also the refrigerator was pushed back in place did the water line get kinked? If the water stream is weak/low the ice maker may not be filling up completely. There is an adjustment on the ice maker to increase out put but allow 24hrs for adjustment to take effect. The screw is located behind a plastic plug on the ice maker with arrows indicateing which direction for increase/decrease. Also if you have had the refrigerator for awhile it has a water filter that may need replaced.

Ice Maker is not working on my Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator

I removed six screws from the ice maker to pull it out of the refrigerator.  Their are four screws holding the ice maker in place and two screws on the ice maker door.  Had problems getting the electrical harness disconnected.  Used hot water to removed the ice cubes that were struck in the ice tray.  Poured all remaining water into a bucket and re-installed ice maker.  As of now, the ice maker is making ice !

The ice maker usually is an easily removable assembly, lift and pull or something like that. It may be the little water line has cracked, plastic don't like being cold.
