To fix most any problem with a mobile home just build a bonfire in the hallway outside of the bathroom with newspapers, cardboard, and old clothing and go out for the evening. If you decide to forego the arson route, the tub enclosure cannot be removed intact so you will have to cut it up with a reciprocating saw to get at the sub-flooring. I recommend marine grade plywood for the replacement sub-floor. The replacement tub and enclosure come in separate pieces instead of the molded one piece unit you probably have, and installation is fairly straightforward. Reconnect supply and drain lines and check for leaks before closing everything up.

No, I just took out the wood panel off of mine and open the black box once you get it out. You will be able to get access to all buttons and take them out and replace them if you need to.

SOURCE: need to replace tub in old travel trailer. any

First turn off water then remove the wall board ,or paneling at least 12 in above tub lip .,Remove more if you can.The more room you have the easer it is to slide the new tub into place. Now you should be able to reach the tubs drains unsrcew or cut them out When you have the drains disconnected .pull any nails or screws from around the tub. Look at the path you have to take to get the tub out ,you'll probably have to remove the toilet tubspout or maybe even the lavitory.when your path is clear put a flat bar between a stud and the inside edge of the tub pry the tub up and out. You way have to move from one stud to another. When its off the wall on the inside edge see if you can pick the back end of the tub up.This should make it easier.Remove all the bad flooring .You will need some lumber now replace the floor joist or scab onto them (you will need 3 or 4 ft of good joist on eather end to scab onto.If the edges of the new floor board dont land on a floor joist simply nail aboard onto the side of the joist it needs to meet on level with the other joist.Where the front of the tub sits cut a hole out about 10x12 in center of hole14and1/2in for standard tub and off the wall in front of the tub 12 in.This will give you room for the tub shoe(thats the part the tub basket screws into) Sit tub on flat level surface and measure from the ground up to the inside edge of tub .Nail a 2x4 on the inside wall about 4 ft long off the floor as high as the edge of the tub.Take your time and get this right if you dont you will have to pull the tub back up after you've set it in place..If you have room you can put the waste and over flow on the tub follow the instructions on the package use pipe compound on threds and plumbers putty on the basket lip.If your not going to be able glue the trap after the tub is inSet the center of drain 14 1/2 in off inside wall and 1 1/2 off front wall .put tub into place front in first drop down the back and slide tub ont the board you nailed up earlier level it up dont add pitch the tub has pitch built into it takes screws or roofing nail securing tub to studs hook up the drain P.S.dont nail or screw through the tub instead nail or screw just above the top liof the lip fill the tub completly up .plug up the over flow When water gets to edge of tub lip look fore leaks then release stopper and finish looking for leaks . YOU HAVE A LOT TO DO! Good Luck!!

SOURCE: bathtub installation

Now I see the wood stud is added support and the tub should rest on it. though it is not to hold the tub up. Like a man using a cane the cane doesn't keep a man standing by itself. Rather it helps a person be more stable that's what the stud does. Set at height for a level tub.

Here is a trick as well for supporting the back of the tub (Shimming) Get some of the expandable foam. Set everything in place like the wood ledge when you have everything in place and tub pre-fitted. Remove tub and place a line of foam along back side. Place tub in place and when foam expands and dries it will become your perfect shim. Hope this helps, thanks for using FIXYA. Good luck, Jeff

Floor sags slightly with wt. of a person. Is there something that can be inserted under the tub floor?

You likely have dry rot, caused by a leak. Very best thing to do is have a competent contractor look underneath and confirm what really needs to be done. You may need to replace floor joists, fix the shower pan, etc.

If you just need to keep the nut from coming loose, try LocTite Blue (assuming metal thread and nut). You should be able to buy it at the local hardware store.

I had the same problem with a slightly different Price Pfister model sink. My problem was primarily because the sink basin was thin and not "beefy" enough to support the faucet. The whole thing would flex because the metal was thin and the nut would come loose.

Using wood for reinforcement down there is a bad idea (it would get wet and rot). So, plastic was the way to go.

I bought an inexpensive piece of plexiglass/lexan at the local home improvement store. A cheap plastic cutting board would work well too.

I cut a rectangle that was a couple inches wider than the the faucet holes and that would fit underneath the sink basin where the holes for the faucet were.

I marked the holes and cut them with a hole saw (Go slow, the heat from the hole saw will melt the plexi!). Cutting slightly oversize makes everything fit easier.

I put my new "reinforcing washer" in place and tightened everything down. The nut snugs up nicely against the plastic and after four months: no more flex, no more nut loosening.

My shower stall has a crack on the floor,i dont know if there is a apn underneathe to prevent rotting on wood

If your shower stall has a crack in the bottom, you may be able to see if it is getting the wood wet by looking under house. But even if it is not leaking there now, it will eventualy become a problem. I would suggest that you make some repairs or hire a proffessional soon. I hope this helps.

The machine is level but the drum spins as if it were not. loud and the machine moves forward

These new front load machines are much heavier and spin much faster than the top load machines. If you have old wood floors in your home or you live in a mobile home, the machine may tend to "walk" or vibrate on the floor. You can try putting something under the machine to help prevent it from walking as it is spinning.

How do I remove gravel underneath washer tub?

To access the washer:
  1. Use a putty knife about an inch wide.
  2. Push the putty knife on the sides to release the top panel and lid clips.
  3. Lift the top panel back towards the wall.
  4. Tape the lid so it does not fall back and chip.
  5. Remove the two 5/16 inch screws on the inside of the front panel. The top of the front panel will come towards you.
  6. Lift the front panel off the clips on the bottom and set aside.
  7. Pull the washer out from the wall and lift up the front to access the belt. Support it with a block of wood.
