Open up de pc, to see if the fan stops turning after a while, if this happens a safety in the processor kicks in and shuts the processor down and holds it from over heating, this happens alot to pc with original intel coolers,
the fans are going bad after a while and just stop to cool the cpu for some reason.

Note, freezes can also occur when the memory is bad or the motherboard is bad.

Usualy it is bad hardware when this happens without the blue screens of death provided and made possible by the Microsofties.

This may also be a problem with your PC fans near your processor or on the CPU which may not be perfectly working because of which the processor gets heated a lot and freezes everything following which sometime it restarts too.

Also another reason would be high ram usage by running multiple applications than what the PC can support, try to use Free Ram kind of softwares.

My Asus m51 keeps freezing. when using internet or office media player ect can you help?

System freeze may be due to overheating or Apllication failure or virus or worm infection.

Open the notebook and get it clean with an Air Blower.

Scan your PC with a good Antivirus like kaspersky Internet security 2010,A-Squared Anti-Malware with their lastest definiton updates install.

Type "msconfig" in the "Run" prompt.
Click "startup" tab
Untick all the programs that run during system startup except Antivirus program.

Clean your PC with any system Cleaner software.

This will most probably solve the problem.

Use Mozilla Firefox or Opera for web browsing, they are more secure than Internet explorer.

Use VLC Player for all media play as it takes little system resource while running.

POWERS UP BUT THEN FREEZES AFTER ABOUT 4 MINUTES

Need to test and isolate where it exactly freezes? After dell logo, after windows logo or while inside windows? Now, if it only freezes inside windows try to turn off your windows updates and antivirus first and check if still freezes, if yes then try booting in safe mode, reboot system then keep tapping on f8 once dell logo appears. Check if laptop keeps freezing in safe mode. Please let me know.
