Load staples in et50 arrow stapler

It will probably have a release at the bottom rear of the stapler. Just push the release in and down to release the rod/spring assembly (the release catch may be silver in color). Drop in a stick of staples the reinsert the rod/spring and reengage the release.

Handle stuck in locked position

One of the screws - furthest away from where the staples exit - has a nut on it... Remove the nut, then - using pliers - back out the screw. When I did this, the spring returned, a bent staple fell out and once re-assembled I could use the stapler again (for a few turns). It seems like the stapler is VERY sensitive to bounce during the stapling, you must hold it very tight (and flat) to the material so that the staple doesn't jam inside the stapler. Lousy product.

NEED AN EXPLODED VIEW OF THE STAPLER AND WHAT PARTS BELONG WHERE. THE TOP SECTION CAME DOWN AND THERE IS A LITTLE BLACK PLASTIC PART THAT I CANNOT SEEM TO GET BACK IN PLACE AND AM WONDERING IF A PIECE IS...

To fix, assemble the top and bottom parts, remove the rubber mat under the stapler, place the black bracket under the pivot pin of the upper part. It actually becomes the lower support for the pivot and holds it in place. Replace the rubber mat and voila - you are in business.

The stapler will only work 1 time. then you must manually push the staples forward. the spring is not strong enough to do that. thanks. Jim

Usually, it is not the spring, but, rather, the stapler is clogged. Turn off the power and gain access to the stapler slide mechanism. Look carefully along the track and the hammer mechanism for pieces of a broken staple or paper chad. Wipe clean and give a light spray of silicone, wipe down and re-assemble. This should clear the problem. Please post back if other issues arise from your inspection.

I have a Canon 1180 printer with sorter and stapler. The stapler puts dents in paper but does not staple. It has staples and there appears to be no jam. What up?

if you have cleared any jamed staples in the cartridge and it is still doing the same thing it may be a weak staple motor or a gear on the staple assembly may be slipping.

E532-0001

An E532 happens when the stapler unit either does not move from front to rear, or rear to front, or hangs up and stops part of the way. A broken stop gate can get in the way of a stapler and keep it from moving. Usually the two inside gates are the problem. The bottom spring may have fallen off when the plastic tab on the bottom of the gate (which holds the spring) breaks off. Or the parts of the gates that come in contact with the white rollers on the stapler assembly become dry and need to be greased to allow the stapler to slide past them. Also check the wiring harness that runs from under the stapler, through an opening and then connects to the stapler itself. Wires have been known to break internally at the wire-tys and cause erratic E532s. Check each wire with a meter for continuity. Hope this helps a little.
