Spray it with a lubricant like wd40 and let it set for a couple of days and try again.

Can u please ecplsin why when u put a bullet in the breavh with your fingers the bolt wont close but when u put it in the magazine it goes in and locks done fine is thst a saftey system

I think you are asking for an EXPLANATION of why, when you put a bullet in a CHAMBER with your fingers the bolt won't close but when you put the bullet in the magazine, it goes in the chamber and the bolt locks DOWN fine. Is THAT a safety system?

ANSWER:
No, it is not a safety system. I am assuming that you are speaking of a standard BOLT ACTION rifle in a centerfire caliber configuration. The extractor, located near the bolt face is why it won't close. When you put the bullet into the chamber and then try to shut the bolt, the extractor has to jump over the rim of the shell casing. When you place the bullet in the magazine and then shut the bolt, the bolt face pushes the bullet up out of the magazine allowing the rim of the case to slide between the bolt face and the extractor claw and feed into the chamber. After firing or if you simply just want to remove the bullet from the chamber, pulling the bolt rearward, the extractor claw hangs onto the rim until the case hits an extractor bar causing the shell to fly out of the rifle.
A good question.
I would suggest a firearms training session. Check with the NRA or a local gun club for help.

Need to know if a rifle I want to buy is legal, Marlin Rifle 22 L R Model 60 LETTER V MADE 1961[AUGUST]1962

Legal in what way? If is stolen only the police would have the serial number flagged. If is is .22 long rifle it is a restricted firearm, so depends on the laws wherever you live. In most countries it needs to be registered. The limit for antique weapons is 1896, and in such cases, the ammunition needs to be obsolete, or the weapon is a smooth bore musket. None of that applies to this weapon.

How do i remove stuck pellets in the barrel of my gamo c 15

Hello, William -

According to the instruction manual for the Gamo C-15 Blowback firearm, you could use ". . . a 4.5mm caliber cleaning rod (.177 in) if a BB has become blocked in the barrel."

The information regarding a blocked barrel is on Page 11 of the instruction manual in the REPAIRS section.

If you do not have the instruction manual, this is the link to the PDF document (Adobe Reader software needed - free):
TinyURL link:

The information is on Image 6, right side, of the PDF document.

(Quote from the instruction manual):
Repairs
A compressed air p1st0l (have to spell it that way or the Fixya algorithm reads it as a "bad word") that is not functioning well can be dangerous. Do not attempt to repair the gun yourself, since this may cause abnormalities in its functioning. Use a 4.5mm caliber cleaning rod (.177 in) if a BB has become blocked in the barrel. Take your gun to approved gunsmiths or to professional repair specialists approved for this type of product.

Best wishes.

Where can I find base pads about 3/8" thick for a S&W model 41 magazine?

Hello,
I was unable to locate a replacement base for the magazine, but used to when mag wells were added to 1911s, we would glue a piece of hard rubber or plastic to the base. You may have to shape it to match up. Easy fix if you have the materials.

I have a 9M i purchased approximately 10 years ago. The weapon does not want to fire the first three rounds for the magazines. what do I need to do to get it repaired?

Suspicious!!!! A chief of police not knowing it as a 9mm or stating manufacture? Just a bit odd.that you are asking very fundimental question when if you were a trained law enforcement officer you would have the answer and if you really had a problem your department armor would be your source for answers
