above is a generic training manual, this will give you an idea of whats required to service and repair a unit such as this. usually when this happens, it is a Power Supply that has taken, a power spike, surge etc. usually they are cheaply repairable, from you authorised service center, Akai, in your case, ask for a "Quote" before proceeding with any work, that way at least you will get an idea as to weather repair or replace.

It is switching off, as it is detecting a component that if it were allowed to be powered ON, may cause a fire, and explosion or both, so the set is switching OFF the PSU, for protection. You should remove this unit from the mains. Then the fault, clears, and it comes on again, this is called a "Hic-upping" power supply. You need to get it attended to by a professional. Please get an authorised service agent, and ask for a "Quote" for any repair.

perhaps u might consider going to a(n) (unauthorised) repair centre. just check with folks around u or maybe audio forums within your area. authorised agent doesn't always mean the best. i suspect they may have used reconditioned components.
