When it's turned on, the light on my monitor blinks but the screen doesn't display anything. Why might this be happening, and how can I fix it? Viewsonic VP230mb 1 week after warranty ended, the monitor quit. Power light comes on for about 1 sec., then goes off, no screen. Tried new cords, no luck. Hooked up another monitor and it works fine, so it is not a computer hardware problem. Got any ideas how to fix??????

SOURCE: Monitor Blinking

This is a Common problem MOST if NOT ALL, problems like this with this type of fault it is invairably a problem with the Power Supply, in the PSU Electrolytic capacitors dry out and often cause this type of exact problem... It is a relitively simple fix, by replacing the caps with new ones... Any good shop should be able to fix for a modest fee.. OR if ya know anyone handy with a soldering iron maybe they could do it for you there are generally about 4 - 6 to replace... in the PS section, just do them all to be safe

SOURCE: LCD Monitor has no video

Sounds your monitor has either blown a backlight or the inverter board is bad. Either way they can both be replaced, but tracking down the parts will be a bit difficult. But your LCD Monitor is in trouble! Sorry!

SOURCE: Viewsonic VX910 powers on, screen displays for 1 second then turns off

Blinking on and off is not always a capacitor issue, it is usually caused by faulty transistors at the high output transformers that light the backlights. Crappy board design ! But fixable in most cases.

SOURCE: viewsonic problem

I RMA'd this probablem as well. They asked the usual questions -- try it alone, check the connections, are you using VGA or DVI... blah blah. Eventually they could give me an RMA.

They have customer support via phone on Sundays in the US, which is nice. Total time from calling to RMA was about 20 minutes.

I CANT GET MY MONITOR TO TURN ON

It could be the Monitor, the VGA adapter, or the PC itself. If you power on the monitor without anything connected to it, do you ever see anything on the display?

If not, it is probably the Monitor. If yes, it is likely the vga adapter and/or PC.

Monitor : no display and blue led light is blinking

The power supply is the first thing that the 110v electric line goes into. The invertor is the next item past the power supply, or sometimes contained within it. I do not thing monitors are a DIY repair.      First substitute a different monitor to confirm that it is, in deed , the monitor and not the video card.

they normally turn off like this when they aren't receiving a video signal from the pc (same as when you turn off the pc). make sure that it is connected properly, and that the video output is activated. try disconnecting from the other monitor while its on and connect the problem monitor...if it still isn't working then there may be a problem with the cable or the monitor itself. Try another VGA or DVI cable. Hope this helps

HD19A / 19-Inch light flickers but no display

One of 2 possibilities come to mind.

1,  The vga chord is loose on the back of the monitor.

2, Your resolution is set too high or low to be displayed.

The blinking light means that the monitor is either not getting or understanding a signal.

Hope this helps.
